Most of us have seen 4wd/Rock Crawling videos, where we they take a group of standard vehicles, like what we'd consider a daily driver, show 10 or 12 clips, and say how they did the Rubicon in a day.

YEAH RIGHT!

Crawlability is a no nonsense, in your face, honest look at the competition rock crawling scene. There aren't any cut-scenes explaining to you how a rig works, or what line he picked, and how he decided it. It's a film of non-stop, hardcore action! I watched this video 4 times so far, and I still have no idea how long it is because I was mesmerized the whole time by clips of unlimited class buggies scaling near vertical obstacles in a gravity defining manner.

The music choice is awesome, there are no trendy hip-hop bands; just some great independent punk/rock labels. The video was also edited very well, surely after producing Twistability and Stickability, they had to live up to their own standards, and they did! The shots are great and steady, the sound of the rigs was blended in so it was there, but you could still hear the awesome music selection. We've all also ran into taking a picture of the most insane obstacle, only to see it on print and think “That looks lame!”. TwistedDV has enough experience from filming that when you saw a rig going up an obstacle, your jaw drops. There is NO ambiguity in how amazing these rigs, drivers and obstacles are.

Tossed in to the video here and there are clips of some amazing BMX action, some great clips from the RC Rock Crawling scene, and some Kayak action thrown in. Yes, you heard right, Kayaking. I always thought Kayaking was a way for middle aged men to get out of the house, but I was wrong! Jumping off 10' waterfalls and intentionally kayaking fully underwater changed my mind pretty quickly!

There are also some clips of the buggies hitting the trails for recreation now and then, and this is just as fun to watch; and it gives your heart a chance to slow down! All of this is mixed in so well that you don't get worn out from just seeing comp buggies over and over again. Again, I feel it's is very well put together; enough so that I will be happy watching it another 4 times and then some!

The Lowdown:

Pros:

Great filming (Angles, shots, sound, etc)

Great music (Good bands, doesn't overpower the sound of the rigs)

Film was VERY well laid out

Great film of the Competition Rock Crawling scene.

Cons:

Lack of carnage. (It was definitely there, but what can I say, I love carnage)

More RC Crawling! (But hey, I'm biased!) The extras on the disk consist of mostly RC Crawling though, which was awesome.

I would have liked more notes on the screen saying who was who, there were some, which is what made me realize that it would have been great to know who everyone was.

This is a great video to get and share with your friends! Or introduce your buddies to what REAL rock crawling is all about!
