Just like its 1:1 winch the scale version sets a new standard to follow. These little guys pack a mean punch.

I have several of these winches, I personally take the servo board off of the winches and wire them directly to a B1R w/ a 4 cell cap. thus allowing me to be able to run the winch off of 14v.( generating a line speed of about a foot per 1.5 sec) This has been done on some for several years with no failures. “CAUTION” If you decide to order one of these and set it up in the above mentioned fashion, great care should be taken to avoid injury!!!!

There is several videos around that show this winch pulling a full size Toyota pickup (on a shop floor) @ 7.0 volts. Another video shows it pulling a Jeep Cherokee on a gravel road. (I will try and link those)

Let me stress that these will not dissappear from the market as they will be sold direct from the original designer(I’m just helping him out). Also keep in mind Neil is a machinist and does this product out of a love for it, therefore he is not making a living off of this product and will be building them in his spare time. After the 1st batch was sold by MSD,

I had intended to continue producing them but had some problems

that ended my machining capabilities for over a year. Then for other reasons,

more time went by ’til this year, when Ben/MSD urged me to start another small batch.

Then a call from John at SDS Customz Spurred me to get them finished and sent out

days before the MSD scale Nat’ls.

For a couple of reasons, I have made the decision to offer them directly.

They will be sold in an assembled, but unwired form. If you wish to purchase

them ready to run from MSD, that may still be an option in the future.

(provided Ben and I work out the details)

I am telling you this to clear the air a little on the whole situation and

to take full responsibility for the time that has gone by with no availability.

New product Line up from RC4WD!

News

mickey thompson

rc4wd

scale crawler

These guys don’t seem to ever slow down, but hey, Im not complaining. I offer kits that have been proven to hold up to competeition abuse, are fairly lightweight, and are a good deal for the price. These kits will work with any twin vertical plate chassis.

Kits available:

COMP KIT-This is the kit most people like, and uses 1/4″-20 screws/nuts. This picture only shows 4 hex nuts, but I am including 14 nuts in this kit:

Price: $9 with two standard 5/16″ diameter, 55mm long braces, or your custom braces. $8 without braces.

FAB KIT-This kit is for those who want to customize thier own mounts:

Price $5 with two 5/16″ diameter, 55mm braces, or your custom braces. $4 without braces.

MINI KIT-This kit is geared towards the MRC, but could be used as a lightweight 2.2 kit, although the smaller 10-32 sized screws will not be as strong when used with a larger, heavier rig:

Price: $5 with 1/4″ diameter, 59mm long braces, or your custom braces. $4 without braces.
PLEASE NOTE: The braces for the Mini Kit are custom made, so there will be a delay when ordering these kits.

XR-10 POSTS-These replace the stock XR-10 vertical body posts.
The picture below shows what is included with EACH post ordered:

Price: $3 for a 2 post kit(recommended) $4.50 for a three post kit.

All prices include shipping to the U.S. and Canada. PM me for International shipping.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY!

CUSTOM BRACES: 55mm is the standard brace size included in the 1/4″-20 (Comp and Fab) kits. If you have a chassis that is smaller or larger than this measurement, and need custom braces to complete your kit, you will need to give me an inside measurement of the space between your chassis side plates. I make custom braces over the weekend, so it is best to give me that info before a Saturday night. The 5/16″ braces are drilled 1″ deep, and will self-tap a 3mm screw. The Mini Kit 1/4″ braces are drilled 3/4″ deep, and will self-tap a 2mm screw. There is no extra charge for custom braces. If your chassis already has 5/16″ diameter cross braces, then you can order a kit without them.

CUSTOM KITS: I can put whatever parts you want in a kit, and probably save you some money too. The reason I offer so many parts in the kit is so you can have spares of everything, plus I don’t know how high you want to mount your body off the chassis. If you can determine how you want your mounts set up, there is no reason to buy the entire kit, you can just purchase the parts you need. Shipping alone costs me an average of $2.50, so a minimal kit will be around $3.50-$4.00. You will have to PM me the parts list you want, and I will quote you a price.

LIST OF PARTS:

1/4-20 bolt lengths: 5/8″ 3/4″ 1″ 1-1/2″ 1-3/4″
Washers- 1/2″ 3/4″ 1″ diameters
Nuts- Acorn, regular hex, 1/8″ low profile, 3/16″ low profile
3/4″ long threaded spacer
5/16″ clamp
M2x12 bolt and nut

MINI KIT PARTS:

10-32 bolt lengths: 3/4″, 1″
Washers- 3/8″, 3/4″ diameters
Nuts- standard hex, 1/8″ low profile
1/4″ clamp
M2x10 bolt and nut

For more information on Gunnar body mounts check out his thread in the vendor section:

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/vendors-paint-body/305316-gunnar-body-mounts.html

CarterFab’s Wraith Body panels

News

Axial Wraith

CarterFab

Wraith panels

RCCrawler has tons of amazing vendors making anything you could dream of for the crawling world. I have taken every step to ensure thee highest quality and durability. I know a lot of people including myself have had issues with the 4 small size bolts that hold regular lockers to the ring gear. With this unit the hardware size is increased to a larger 4-40 size fastener. This will require a slight mod be made to your ring gear. You simply need to bevel or countersink the mounting holes in the ring gear. Both axles get clamped down tight together by the floating key piece inside the locker. This is clamped down by a single large 10-32 setscrew to ensure a tight grip. These and all my parts are manufactured right here in the USA from quality American materials.

New per customer request is the light weight aluminum version of this unit weighing in at almost 1/3 the weight but still utilizing the clamping design. We are now also offering both the aluminum and steel versions with a standard hardware option. Thats right you can now get these with the stock 2mm thread and 4 stainless bolts for install. Some did not like the idea of drilling gears or lack the tools. These will be a direct drop in no mod deal. 100% bolt on install”thumbsup”. The new Ridgecrest is a mash of the of Axial parts from over the years. But don’t take my word for it, check it out.

The original AX10™ Scorpion hit the market in April of 2007. It was Axial’s first vehicle which brought crawling to the mainstream and quickly became the most influential crawler in the industry. Since then, Axial has made numerous advancements through a variety of chassis designs which developed new categories within the crawling segment.

While the shaft-driven AX10™ chassis made crawling available to the masses, the market was split into two categories; scale and competition. Axial answered both with the development of the SCX10™ realistic metal c-channel frame which became the de-facto chassis for the scale scene, while the XR10™ answered the call for a motor-on-axle competition rig and claimed the national title. Then, with a close eye on development within the full-size rock racing niche, Axial delivered the Wraith™, further expanding the radio control crawling / rock racing categories.

April 2012 marks the five year anniversary of the AX10™ and Axial felt that it was time for the product that launched us into the crawling segment to undergo some evolution and receive some trickle-down technological advancements of its own!

We have not changed the original scope of the vehicle; the AX10™ Ridgecrest™ is still the “Leatherman” of the Axial product line and it’s where backyard crawling begins. We have taken key items from our products and put them into the AX10™ Ridgecrest™, along with an all-new tube style chassis.

The most noticeable performance upgrade of the AX10™ are the Ripsaw™ tires, with their 5.5″ tall by 2.1″ wide stance, mounted on officially licensed Raceline Renegade wheels. But what you do not see is the updated suspension geometry that also delivers better articulation. All delivered through Dana 60 inspired AR60 OCP-Axles™ that have already been proven on the Axial Wraith™.

The AX10™ Ridgecrest™ is a highly capable, affordable starting point for anyone. If you are not sure what you want to do and how you want to do it within the various segments of crawling, the AX10™ Ridgecrest™ is the most versatile truck with scale looks, performance driven components and the right amount of speed mixed with technical crawling prowess – all in one rig.

Tube Style Chassis

The AX10™ features a tube style chassis design that makes the truck more durable, lightweight and rigid.

Adjustable Battery Tray

The battery tray and electronics mount are easily adjustable for a number of configurations – battery in the rear, in the forward position, upside down, etc. Each of these adjustments allow you to setup your AX10™ for the best possible handling.

Spur Gear Cover

The protective transmission spur gear cover helps keep dirt and debris out of your pinion and spur gear for a quiet and efficient drivetrain.

Slipper Clutch

Allows the motor to work more efficiently and greatly enhances the durability of the drivetrain allowing the transmission to slip in hard binds.

High Performance Shocks

Axial competition style shocks feature threaded shock bodies for tuning and easy pre-load adjustment, 3.5mm titanium nitride coated shock shafts for reduced lateral movement, silicone diaphragms for a more consistent feel and silicone bushings to prevent binding.

Ar60 OCP-Axle

A locked differential provides the most positive wheel traction in all off-road environments and conditions and requires less maintenance over oil-filled or silicone based differentials. These are easily serviced by removing four screws to gain access for rebuilding and performance tuning as well.

4-Link Suspension

The suspension geometry utilizes a 4-Link design which is optimized to reduce axle steer and to have the proper amount of anti-squat and roll characteristics. The 4-Link system also aids against suspension wrap-up in high power applications.

WB8 Splined Driveshaft

Metal to metal universal joint driveshaft system with splined plastic slider. This design provides more durability than traditional driveshaft designs because it uses a screw shaft for a more positive lock to the output shaft.

2.2 Ripsaw Tires

Ripsaw™ tires are mounted and pre-glued to 8-spoke Raceline Renegade Wheels right from the factory. The Axial 2.2 Ripsaw™ tire offers both a realistic and aggressive tread design for the ultimate scale appearance and performance.

2.2 Raceline Renegade Wheels

Pre-mounted 2.2 Raceline Renegade Wheels with 12mm hex mount which is reinforced with additional material and ribbing. Finished in a two-tone Black/Chrome scheme for great looks.

Vertically Mounted ESC

The AE-2 ESC is held in place vertically by a secure, clip-in style plastic mounting system just behind the radio box. Facing the rear of the truck helps keep debris and water away from the ESC.

ESC with Drag Brake

The Axial AE-2 ESC was developed in partnership with Castle Creations and features LiPo cutoff, drag brake for tough crawling situations, a Tamiya style plug connector and is programmable via Castle Link™ (Castle Link™ not included).

AR-3 2.4GHz Receiver

• AR-3 2.4GHz receiver – no crystals required.

• No frequency conflicts for worry-free driving.

• Bind button and LED indicator makes setup easy!

• 3-channel

• Lightweight, compact size.

20T Motor

Tear up the terrain, be it flat out desert, rocky roads or crawling! Easy operation: no tuning, no fuel, no loud exhaust noise. Just plug ‘n’ go! Our design allows for optional 550 size motors to fit as well.

Waterproof Receiver Box

Protects the receiver from dust and debris and is waterproof for the ultimate in weather protection.

AX-2 2.4GHz Transmitter

• 2.4GHz, 2 channel pistol grip radio.
• Servo reversing switches for steering and throttle.
• Trim dials for fine tuning steering and throttle centers
• Battery indicator light lets you know when your transmitter batteries run low.

Hot Bodies MOA Crawler

News

HB MOA

Hot Bodies crawler

With the toy fair this week in Germany a lot of new RCs are popping up. He is a stand up guy who makes some really cool crawlers and a lot of products that benefit the R/C crawling world. After bugging him for a few months I was finally able to get him to fill out a vendor profile and give us some of the details of Fubar Crawlers.

What’s your name? John Wolfkeil

Where is your business located?Arizona

What is the name of your business?Fubar Crawlers

What’s your title in the business?Owner / Designer / Cutter

What are your hobbies?Just about anything RC, Cars, Trucks, Heli’s and Planes along with Competition Shooting.

What got you into RC rock crawling?I was searching for hop up parts for a X-mod and stumbled across a thread on RCC, I was instantly hooked.

When did you start selling crawler products?Mid 2007 I started producing parts for TCS and it evolved from there.

What parts were you producing for TCS?It started out with the original Axial 2.2 beadlock wheel rings, still going strong this day.

What products did you first start making/selling?Axial 2.2 Delrin Beadlock rings

Tell us a little about your chassis you produced.Over the years I made a few different chassis mainly for the Berg setups. The most popular was the Fubar Skeeter, although never winning a national championship it could definitely hold it’s own in the right hands. To this day I still produces chassis but for other vendors as time does not allow me the dedication required for testing.

What are you making/selling now?Still selling beadlock rings for just about every type of wheel, Vehicle Emblems, Rig stands, and I just released a Gas and Brake pedal set to finished off your prized scaler. I also do custom one-off work such as go-fast plate chassis and supports for several members.

Anybody else carrying your products? I produce several products for other Vendors on RCC which are sold directly on RCC and through TCS and RPP.

Got an online store? No, I prefer to have products in hand before billing the customer so dealing directly through RCC gives both me and the customer the most benefit.
<img width="150" height="150"
