New video: Team NFA Snowbashing at the dunes I've been sitting on this footage for a year now but since I find myself with lots of spare time during the day I threw this video together. This is from Jan 2008 and our annual trip to the North Sand Hills. The snow was particularly deep that year and we couldn't bust through at the main entrance, so we went around to the second entrance. Friggin bitter cold and windy but a fun trip as always. Enjoy. Awesome vid Griz. That CJ was sick! Any specs on that thing? Sorry, the Bronco was cool too. :ror: |

Rather than me retyping all the specs you can read them on our club site. But to get you interested..... 113" wheelbase 630hp Turnkey Engine Supply 427 LS7 46" Mickey Thompson's Dana 60/14 bolt |
What line of work are you guys in?!  |

I'm unemployed right now.......but I used to be an mechanical engineer in the hard drive industry. The broncs are built on somewhat of a budget, :ror:, you could duplicate them for around $50k. But the CJ's.........yeah, there's some money in them. |
Jeeze... Well best of luck to you Griz. |

Grizz... do you ever have any cooling issues? What setup do you have under hood to keep her cool? |

I've got a Summit 2 core Aluminum radiator, 31" wide x 19" tall, that I built a custom radiator support for. In front of it I have 2x 14" pusher fans in a custom fan shroud sealed to the radiator. I had to go with pushers because of the supercharger drive pulley/belt and I had to go with 14er's because of space restrictions. I use a 190 degree thermostat and an Edelbrock aluminum water pump. One fan is on a thermal switch that kicks on at 180 degrees, the other is on a manual switch that I leave on all the time on the trails. Having the inner fenderwells removed does wonders for cooling as well. On the driver's side by the radiator I have two 11" fin and plate transmission coolers stacked together with their own 10" puller fan. This keeps the radiator clear and gives better airflow than putting the tranny coolers in front of or behind the radiator. The pictures only show one tranny cooler. When the big motor goes in I will add one more tranny cooler somewhere and an engine oil cooler behind the radiator. The red Bronc runs a custom 6 row  copper brass radiator, 38" wide x 16" tall, with two 16" Spal puller fans. He runs 3 tranny coolers, two in front of the radiator and one under the radiator with it's own 10" fan. He can basically run it so long that the exhaust melts the rhino lining on the floorboards. In fact, we can both run long enough that the engine overheating isn't the limiting factor anymore, it's getting the diffs and t-case so hot they burn you to the touch. |
