Got some more done this weekend. Slowrockr showed up and got allot done. He turned down some solid aluminum bar and slid it in the lower rails of the chassis so there is no way they will collapse. He also trimmed the new winch plate to fit and also finished the seat mounts and made the spacer for the 1" rod ends. I spent Saturday cleaning and packaging up the motor and trans and t-case out of the old car so it could be shipped out to rifle and then to vegas. Today I got the lower shock mounts done, started welding the axle housing truss. I have allot of welding to do this week but I hope to get the truss weld on and the link tabs tacked this week.

Wow, all of those laser cut plates set this thing way above the the standard flared holes, let alone the ridiculous welding. |

| Fukin huge I expect, what size you gone for?? It would drive like a Wheely King if you stuck a Hemi motor in it, maybe you could get sponsored by HPI. Last edited by Tupers; 08-12-2009 at 07:53 AM. |

| Went with 1" X 1" heims and 1" uniballs for rear lower trailing arms. My old car had 3/4 X 5/8 in it and I never had a problem with them, don't expect we'll have issues with 1". Sure the hell better not, I'm not sure my body could handle the forces involved with killing 1" heims. |

Update time. Got some more done this weekend. Got the long side front truss welded on. What a long process that was two days of welding four one inch sections then letting the housing cool. Got the winch mount fab finished , lower shock mount tacked in place , pass side upper link mount tacked in place , lower links needed to be shortened and tapped out to accept one inch rod ends So slowroxkr ran to a friends and used his lathe and banged it out , slowrock crunched all the numbers on the front link geometry I can't remember it all but the anti-squat will be adjustable fron 0-70 percent , bolted a shock on so I can desing the upper mounts. we still need to turn down all the bolts to length there is no threads in the tabs or rod end that way they are harder to bend. Sure there was more On to the pics man the front rod ends are huge. |
