I don't think any of my race tool sets have big enough wrenches for these bolts. I might take you up on the tap still when I have to go make my links in a couple weeks.

Question - Im a total noob at 1:1 stuff and never even checked it out before i got into the RC side of it. Why not quench it to cool it so you can work faster? Will it deform the housing or something?

Im amazed its so close to RC when you are at this level. No off the shelf stuff, cut and fab your own. 2x

Hey I tried to pay for it. I think we may actually need both, Rob said his is a bottoming but wasn't sure how well it'd start. Guess we can find out, lord knows I got plenty of aluminum to try it on.

Was down at Carnage HQ today.... The buggy looks more kick a$$ every time I drop by!! I figure I should hang around as much as I can since I am trying to swing the whole "pitcrew" thing for the Hammer race... crossing fingers since I start a new job tomorrow morning.

I received a couple boxes from the brown truck yesterday......

2.25" ID bearing full float kit for the rear 9", had the guy make us custom weld in snouts since we're using Spidertrax 3.5" .250 wall housings.

Remove the 4 bolts in the cap and bam, pull the axle shaft out. Could change a 3rd member in 10 minutes or less if there's ever any issues.

Drive plate removed shows how much bigger these bearings are. Hell they are bigger than a front 60 bearing. It's like putting 2 carrier bearings at the wheel! Doubt we'll have any problems with these bad boys. Hell even the wheel studs are huge.

Rotor adapter bolts to the back of the hub, still trying to source 14" rotors in the 8x7" bolt pattern so the rotors match front to back.

Looks like a good combo to me.

That's the plan Ben. Last time our main goal was get through the LCQ, than see the finish line. This year since we're already in the big show we want to see the finish line before anyone else. We're for sure stepping up our game from last year, just hope the checkbook can hold out. The wife too.

Few more shots of the floater kits. One taken apart , snout in the housing, and on with hub assembly on the axle.
