hey guys! I just bought an 06 wrangler. my question to you guys is what type of lift kit is the best? i want to run 32's and still keep it kind of dual purpose. i drive the interstate alot. also do some trail riding, nutin too radical but weekend stuff. any help would be appreciated.

IMO, Clayton makes the best lift kits (both long and short arm) for jeeps:

Yep a budget boost is all you really need. Obviously switching to larger tires will change your speedo/odometer readings so you need to get that calibrated as well.

His TJ should only require a new speedo gear. Simple to swap out:

If you're only going that big on tires...Wranglers don't need much to fit tires.

IMHO...anything more than the 2" budget boost lift will be a waste of cash. Keeps your OEM ride, and is much cheaper than installing a full kit that is truly unwarranted.

Like stated, a Budget Boost is the easiest way to get the lift you want to fit 32" tires. Although I'm running a larger lift with the same size tires, I use all the flex I make with it and a larger tire would rub bad. I also planned ahead knowing that I'm going to want to use larger tires later so I can hopefully keep the lift I have and just modify the body.

I put an 1 3/4 spacer in the front and 3/4 spacer in there rear of my Rubicon and it'll clear 32's no prob. I had to do it though because of the winch and bumper on the front sagging the front out. you can get away with the 1 3/4 spacers without shocks but 2 inch I think you need to do shocks but I forget. If you don't have any down travel it'll ride like crap so longer shocks are a good idea or you can get those shock spacer thingy's. Also don't forget to take it to a good alignment shop when your done and have the front end done. While your there get the rear done to and get the cam bolt kit for the rear as well. A lot of people forget to have an alignment or just don't know any better then wonder why they are eating tires and getting DW.

I have an 05 Rubi.

Added a Skyjacker Coil Spacers and Nitro8000 shocks.

Opted for 32's due to rubbing on full lock due to 10.5 width. 32's are 9.5.

Makes the Rubi look like it should have from the factory.

If ya have basic handtools, you can save yourself even more by installing the spacers in your driveway.

I'll second the budget boost; and if you want a bit more clearance, you could try a 1" body lift.

My wifes TJ (oo) runs 3" spacers in front and 2" ones out back due the bumber and side armor and has 33x12.5x15s on it. I wheel it occasionally and it's a pretty nice setup. used a hammer at the rear of the front wheel opennings but also have the Xenon fender flares. and you can't tell at all. Flex's quite well. I"ve done a bar-pin eliminator as well using rear sway bar mounts from an XJ (the box cherokee). another cheap great mod. something else to do that I will be shortly is to swap out the long steering link for one out of a V-8 grand cherokee. "SOLID" steering setup, youwon't be bending the stocker into a taco like my friend did. (he has 31s) It's a direct replacement too.

On my 2001 I went with the Full Traction 3" lift. Pretty complete, minus shocks. I picked up pretty cheap, $450 with shocks. Installed it on a Sunday in my garage. I ran 33's and could have fit 35's. That 3" was a true 3" plus some. It did drop about .5" overall.

I have a 94 Yj, so I have a different system, but from what I have seen and hear, the Rubicon Express kit is something to think about.
