Default newest project at Carnage Crew Garage

We are in the process of building this car right now and Kris or my self will be updating this thread as often as possible

We got a call from one of our good friends James Ramond asking us to build him one of the coolest 52 desotos ever. This is what he found sitting on a piece of property he had bought a little while back. This is how it looked when he dropped it off .

The plan

All new art Morrison Chassis , c6 corvette front suspension with 14 inch willwood rotors and six piston calipers, spidetrax spider nine rear housing, triangulated four bar, 14 inch willwood rotora and 4 piston calipers, 472 cubic inch Hemi 600 HP with hilborn injection converted to EFI, Built 4L80E transmission there is allot more to come.

she was a little rough

this is how it looked after the first day of work. It took Kris, Stewco, and my self all day to get it ready to go the the media blaster. Man can you say rust repair?

Pretty much the whole bottom 5 inches of the body will need to be replaced. Witch will be tough since there is not really any replacement panels available for these cars.

pretty much all we will be using from the original desoto will be the main body. Every think else will be bran spanking new.

Here is the body back from the blaster. it looks a little worse after it has been blasted. the hood , trunk and driver front fender are in really good shape but it Looks like we will be needing to find a new front fender and one new rear fender. the rest of the body will be fixed or new panles built in house.

That pic doesn't do the motor justice, there's $20k + in that little blue box.

I know you've gotta have some more pics, these are like 2 months behind

Built with new components, this Mopar Performance 472 Hemi engine produces 530 horsepower and 530 ft/lbs of torque. It has a World Products cast iron block with crossbolted mains, cast iron cylinder heads, and aluminum dual plane M1 4-bbl intake manifold. Mopar recommends the use of a Holley 850 cfm carb and 2" exhaust headers.Other Features
Bore/Stroke: 4.250" x 4.150"
Compression Ratio: 9:1
Stainless steel 2.25" Int/1.94" Exh valves
Hydraulic camshaft (Lift .582" Int/.563" Exh, Advertised Duration 248° @ .050")
Heavy-duty single valve springs with dampers
Premium valve stem seals
Forged steel crankshaft
Forged pistons
Double roller timing chain and sprockets
Front timing chain cover
Spark plugs and 7mm wires
Aluminum water pump and housing
Electronic distributor
Chrome valve covers with breathers
6-quart rear sump oil pan (1970-71 B/E-Body Style)
Engine crate and stand

the intake is a hilborn injection manifold that was converted to efi by Imagen Injection in Phoenix. We hope to build right around 600hp with the injection and a good tune.

Next step Kris and I did was to brace the body so it would hold its shape once we started cutting it apart. Then put it on the rotisserie and cut the floor out.

Hopefully Kris will jump on here with the pics he has of all the bitchen rust repair panels he built for this project.

That injection system is sick! Too bad they aren't velocity stacks coming through the hood.

LOVE LOVE LOVE that it's a Desoto.

Nice, it's about time we see where this project is going!

Say hi to Jimmy for me, and tell him the mud never came out of my clothes.
