429 BBF, bored .40 over to a 466. Decent cam, dove heads, edelbrock intake. Not anything over the top but it's a solid motor.

Nice. We have a just a stock 351 in the 78' and was gonna put a 460 in it. But we changed our mind. I believe you can have to much motor. Last time we wheeled the right front hub was broke. So dad got pissed and just put it to the floor. When you bounce around the rocks like a cricket with a stock motor and not break anything the then why go bigger? Plus those tube buggys are light. When they Have a 460 or 454 and bounce a few feet in the air and come down it won't break as much.

Shortest life? Wrong. I have had them for over a year and none have burned out. My regular burned out in 6 months. They are the same exact brightness as the HId projectors in my grandfathers Ford Flex which comes with 6000k bulbs from the factory, and I don't see how good nightime visibility is a 'ricer fad', but whatever.

Give me a couple days and I'll show you realy HID's, as I'm installing bi-xenon projectors in my JKU shortly. With 6000k bulbs.

And not saying you're 100% wrong, but I have yet to find a manufacturer that uses anything higher than 4300k bulbs for HID's. Honda, Acura, VW, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini....pick one.....they all use 4300k, as anything more is considered to be "off-road use only" due to the slight blue tint they have.

^^Need to see some flex shots of that beast. I'd imagine you get a decent amount of rubbing with those tires unless you have a ton of bumpstop.

all cleaned up with no field gear.

loaded up and ready to head out.

i do miss the lights, made working in the dark easier.

We just picked this up so its in the whats your wifes ride as well....

Its got 38's, but the guy we bought it from threw in some Scout 44's (F/R) FI intake and wiring harness (I need to get the throttle body), the hard top, 2bikini tops, a half top and the rear cover, rear seat, a brand new 38 TSL for a spare, and high steer knuckles with pit man arm/ tie rod. Pretty good deal and really solid start. My girlfriend drove it home (about 50 miles) and she said it had no issues (she does know about cars).

Very nice
Took it out to the snake trail today (i can cruise it in 2wd, but its quite fun in something that doesn't twist up real well, like my dune buggy), here it is maxed before it floats a tire...both the front driver and rear passenger tires are jammed up hard into the fenders, it might flex out more...37" tires are on it right now
