I'm quite surprised to see this many 1:1 wheelers. I truly am blown away, I for some reason thought this forum was a bunch of broken Oldsmobile Alero drivers with RC cars that cost 3X what their 1:1 costs

Daily Driver/Wheeling rig- 2000 Toyota Landcruiser 100. OME Lift with long travel, gears/axles/etc. Bumpers, sliders, and 100,000 lumens.

Weekend Toy/Expedition Rig: 1984 LandRover Defender 90. RHD, Turbo Diesel, upgraded turbo's, 3" SS exhaust, lockers, gears, armor. Sits on 36" Simmex Centipedes, which if you aren't aware of, you cannot get in the US :( . They are the greatest tire man has created. I can't tell you how difficult it was to import this thing from EUR.

Long Distance Vehicle: 2006 Merceded E55 AMG. OEM everything on the outside. She will run a 10.8 @ 141.8 MPH. Nothing is more satisfying than pulling away from a 911 Turbo with 5 people in the car, Starbucks coffee, and a trunk full of junk. I just swapped out the tires to SuperSports...it's like a totally different car! I will never put anything else on. The back end doesn't step out as much, I can obviously still get the back end out, but I can put the power down when I need it and not go ass backwards.

Not pictured...my track cars.

And not saying you're 100% wrong, but I have yet to find a manufacturer that uses anything higher than 4300k bulbs for HID's. Honda, Acura, VW, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini....pick one.....they all use 4300k, as anything more is considered to be "off-road use only" due to the slight blue tint they have.

1) Thank you for installing Bi-xenon projectors. Which brand are they?
2) 6K bulbs is not illegal, infact any HID bulb is illegal if it didn't come installed from the factory.
3) Auto manufactures typically use 4300K bulbs or the Phillips 85122 D2S bulb (Acura, Toyota, etc). Companies such as Mercedes, BMW, Lexus use the 85122+, which is the same capsule, however it's got a little more "oomph" and puts out another 250 lumens using the same 35W ballast. Companies that strike the general public as "exotic" use a Osram Xenarc CBI 66240, which is a OEM 5K D2S (or D1S) that is DOT Approved and has more output than the 85122+. I run the CBI's in my truck and they are absolutely stunning!
4) Any, and I mean any bulb you purchase at Napa, AutoZone, Pep Boys, Walmart is going to say "off-road use only". The ONLY bulbs that are truly 100% DOT approved are the ones you get when the car comes off the production line. Companies put DOT approved on the boxes just because, they also put offroad use only to cover their asses. Even though you installed a nice set of bi-xenon projectors, that have better output and a better beam pattern (i.e - foreground light, cutoff, width, reduction of hotspots) of most OEM vehicle projectors, doesn't mean it's DOT. Which essentially makes your vehicle illegal in some states/countries.

I would throw some 5K bulbs in there, you will net some lumens over the 6K, depending on the projector size you may be able to run a 55W setup, but be careful, too much heat in the projector bowl and cause premature failure of the chrome reflector and delaminate.

My headlights...low beams

2012 JKU, 35" Goodyear Duratracs on 16" ProComp 7069 wheels (4" of backspacing), cut stock fender flares, cut stock bumpers. Bought it with a hard top and a buddy gave me his OEM soft top for free a couple months ago.

With the little version of it on the hood:

The guy that built them has his own projectors if I'm not mistaken. XtraLight and they're 35W AC. They have a nice, sharp cutoff, and spit out plenty of light. I could've gone with the 55W projectors, but I didn't see any point really. The difference in light output between the 35W AC that I got and the 55W was pretty negligible really. And so far I've been very happy with them. And they weren't overly expensive like some others, either. I've got CCFL's installed behind the shrouds to reflect off the housings, creating a city light effect, but I don't have them connected just yet. I've been a bit lazy, but also settling into a new job.

I believe the guy is working on a website for them now, but I know you can find him on Facebook. HID Projectors is the company.

Here's a cople pics of them installed.

Low Beams @ About 30 FT

High Beams @ About 30 Ft

I don't currently have any pics of it on the road yet, but I've compared them to the new TruckLite Gen II LED headlights and they reach out pretty far and wide. I'm not unhappy with them at all.
