Good Idea or bad idea to weld the front diff? running 31/10.50. and its on a dd. Just want to get around better but dont want to weld the rear since I drive it almost daily. Oh and its on a Bronco2

That's a dana 28 front end. If you want to get good at replacing parts go right ahead and weld it. I'd find an eddie bauer edition and rob it's front end and rear axle. It should have 4.10's and limited slips front and rear. Of course if you're going that far explorer axles are light years ahead in strength and aftermarket parts availability.

Go ask this on Pirate, I'm sure you'll get a lot more responses.

Never a good idea on any sort of rig short of a dedicated crawler. If you *need* a locker up front, go after an air locker or something similar. That kills steering horribly on-road and will pull one direction if tires unevenly inflated. Marcus |
