Thanks for the advice guys... I was worried about my rockers when I was at the ORV so I went ahead and ordered the super sliders from Rocky Road.

I think I'll go with the square stinger, any opinions?

I would definitely go with the square one. The other one just doesn't look right. Nice 4Runner! When you're ready for tires you might consider something different than the BFG AT if you plan to see any kind of mud or more than snow packed roads at all. I ran them for awhile on my truck since they came on it, and they were great on the road and on dry dirt and rocks off road, but any mud or deep snow and they suck. I'm running Cooper STTs now and love them! |

I'm not a fan of stingers, but the square one looks a lot better. Is that a Shrockworks bumper? |

No, it's an Addicted Offroad bumper. I really like the square one... I don't love the look of the ifs under it though... I may have to go solid axle some day. I'll get pics of the sliders latter today. |

So, I think bolt them on and then weld latter.

Always weld a suspension or protection part. The bolt holes get seriously Fawkes up quicker than you think.

That's what I was thinking... maybe the bolt holes are more for show mounting.

Personally, I think sleeving them is a better route. Drill a larger hole in the frame, weld in a sleeve through the frame, then bolt the sliders on.

Good-looking T4R, Johnnyh66. I own a '99. That soft top is awesome.

| Re: 88' 4Runner: mild build by noob hell no! Damn life keeps eating up all my spare cash! I have saved money back up and I'm about to buy a set of tires. Thinking Goodyear MT/R 32x11.5x15 on my stock wheels. People say they will fit w/o a lift. I still plan on getting the Old Man Emu 2" lift... but I want to get a rear locker first, before spring so we can hit the trails MegaBoy! |
