Dodge Ram troubles I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 3.9L v6. I've had it for about 3 years and it's been a great truck untill I moved to Michigan this past summer and the radiator went out. I replaced it and it ran fine for a wile then I ended up needing to put in a new starter and I had some wiring issues. I moved back to Oklahoma a few months ago and it's been perfect until about a week ago it had a hard time starting. It did it once a day for about 3 days straight. Today I replaced the wires, plugs, cap, and rotor and it will start up but will not stay running. It starts up pretty good it'll have a hard start about every 5 times I try and start it. I know there are some mechanic's out there and was wondering what your professional opinion is on what could be causing this? Could it be the fuel pump? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk |
Re: Dodge Ram troubles I have a 98' dodge ram, had the same problem, plug in the block heater and in and wait 3-4 hours and it will start up like a charm, i think its cause its just too damn cold. |

Re: Dodge Ram troubles might want to start looking at the crank position sensor. |
Re: Dodge Ram troubles That would have been my first guess. Just replaced mine about a month ago. |
Re: Dodge Ram troubles Yeah no problem man! These trucks act like diesels when it gets cold out! Ram on! :} |
Re: Dodge Ram troubles Is it throwing any codes? I just had to replace the camshaft sensor, located under the cap + rotor, in my 97 Ram 5.2L |
The engine light is on we hooked our code reader up and it said it was a bad gas cap seal Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk |
Re: Dodge Ram troubles yea thats the evap system, wont stop the truck from running though, mines been on with the same code for a couple of months. |
