Default Michael's Budget Cherokee

Picked up a 99 Cherokee from a buddy that was wrecked in the rear and the insurance totaled it. Sucks they totaled it but works out for me. I paid $600 for it and have found a rear bumper, rear door and taillight for $250. It looks to have maybe a 2in lift and sitting on 31's. Not sure if I want to make a driver out of it or a trail rig. Too cheap to pass up.

That appears to be around a 3 inch lift. Chop the fenders up, throw some 33s on there, and wheel the hell out of it

Plan is to put a 6 1/2 lift on 33's. Not sure if I wanna go with the long travel lift or regular lift. What's yalls opinion on long travel versus regular lift.

With 6.5 in a cherokee long travel is an absolute must. The ride will suck on short arms at that height.

It is 15 years old, an empty gas tank and basic maintanence on it could be considered a total loss to some insurance companies.

With over 200k miles and a slight buckle in the unibobody, Yea.
Btw, I got the rear door, bumper and taillight put on. Just needs paint and a little body work. Will update pics soon.

It has a 1/2 tank gas....

Its just a lift kit that replaces the center skid with a new one that has integrated link mounts so that the control arms are longer. Longer arms will lessen the angle on the arm which makes the axle cycle in a different arc and it'll ride and wheel better.

ironrockoffroad.com 4" long arm lift kit, and 35" tires, beef up the steering brace and mount, then add gears and lockers.

6.5" lift on 33's will look like a 4.5" lift on 31's, aka wrong.

Just wondering if you plan to have the unibody pulled back into shape on a frame machine before 'fixing' the damage? Looks like you have the makings of a nice trail rig.
