Oh wow, thats awful man. Thanks for educating ma aha. In fact the production of defender is ending over hear in the UK as it will no longer meet EU safety regulations. So I reckon I will be keeping mine for a very long time

Stripped the rear end yesterday, tailgate, tow bar, and a couple trim pieces came off and started sanding the rear cross member. Had to grind a few bolts aswell. The rear cross member will be painted to match the front bumper and the tow bar will be painted the same colour. I will be replacing the trim pieces will some stainless steel ones

.Rear cross member sprayed
.Towing electrics repositioned
.Drop plate and gubbins sprayed
.Tow hitch sprayed
.Stainless bolts

All that's left now is to get the tailgate mounted and also spray the rear strip that holds rear tub down

Thank you for the kind words

That would be so cool seeing a mini me of it, I will one day make a scale version of it either on my scx10 chassis or a rc4wd gelande 2

I have also fitted the rock sliders and the rear strip on the back, I'll get some pictures up tomorrow

Thought I should update this thread.

Done:
New brake discs, brake pads, wheel bearings and hub flanges.
Got an LED reverse light and LED rear fog light, same ones that are found on the new defenders.

To do:
Install new heavy duty front caster corrector radius arms

Heres a picture during the brake overhaul

Work has been done, just haven't taken any picture. I will take some over the weekend. 1:1's are a lot more expensive than scx10's and also involve woring on them outside in the cold not in the kitchen haha!! Thanks for kind words and yeah my mates didn't really like the truck version, now they want to turn their's into trucks haha

Haven't updated this thread for a while so thought i should as lots have been done to the Landy

Got a high mount winch bumper, it's made out of 6mm plate steel which has been rienforced and attaches to the chassis using 9 m12 bolts

Had the radiator and intercooler out, gave them both a coat of black. Also done a full coolant flush

Back together

Got a rear stainless steel high side exit exhaust piece and aluminium finisher, this thing now has a complete straight through exhaust and sounds absolutely amazing

Other work that has been done:

.New rocker cover gasket
.5mm ally fuel tank gaurd

Work to do:

.Put galvanised bed cappings on
.Install new rubbers for the cab
.Re-install snorkel

One last picture

Hope you like

Just wondering what the Brit term is for a pickup truck? I know that larger trucks are called 'Lorrys'.
