Hi all. I'm new to the forum. Just getting in to crawling. Been playing with an xj for a while. 97 4 door 6" IRO long arm, 5100 shocks, shackle boxes, 4:88 gears in some trussed axles with lockers, 33" mtrs. It works well.

Hey I know this is a few months old but be careful with the leafs removed I ran the same set up RE leafs with only the 3 long ones left and snapped both sides on a weak bounce took out the drive shaft too. Just a heads up, was fun driving the jeep out with the rear only ratchet strapped in and front wheels pulling haha.

My 91 MJ Eliminator

My 92. Was a trail beater but it's become more of a parts vehicle here lately. Not sure what I'm doing with it.

What needs done to achieve this?
Hard to do?

Nope. On the older style you just need a dremel and reinforced cut off wheels. Cut the bottom part of the hinge off for the drivers side, remove the limiting straps. Odds are it's going to be hard to pull off due to age, so you can stick a bottle jack on a wheel and use it on the bottom of the door. Couple pumps to get it moving and it comes right off. Drill the hinge on the body out slightly to allow the pins to go in and out easier and you're done. Passenger side you have to cut the top off, push the pins out and flip them over and put them back in from the top, otherwise it's exactly the same.

97+ is a bit different, but not difficult. Can't remember exactly how to do it off hand but if you google it there's lots of write ups with pictures.
