Gotcha. The cable certainly makes things more difficult. Drill motor on the speedo cable, truck up on jacket ands with the idle bumped up. If you go the jack stand route I'd suggest avoiding the Ferrari in ferris beullers day off scene.

Yea, I think I just need to find a creative way to lift the rear end off the ground that's a lot safer than the poor excuse of the jack stands I own. Then get a friend to work the pedal while I test stuff.

will you be off roading often? Unless you're going to be I'd stick with the carb. If you do go EFI don't forget to swap in an EFI tank

No major off roading, but my idea of off roading is significantly different that what other people call off roading. I'll definitely drive on dirt mountain roads.

I want efi because that means I don't have to learn how to tune a carb, I don't have to worry about running way too rich and blowing money out the exhaust pipe, I drive from Denver to Moab on a pretty regular basis when my jeep isn't handicapped, I don't know how well the carb can handle the elevation changes, and I'm soon to be an Electrical Engineer and like electrical goodies.

It'll also start and run significantly better in the cold.

If I was a flat lander, I'd probably stick with the carb. But driving all over colorado mountains, I think the efi will run better. (with less effort)

Why not go electronic?

I'll probably save the carb and points distributor out of it incase WW3 ever happens and have to deal with EMP's. But there really is no downside to having efi and both of those I posted is only a grand. The Fuel System is $400. And it's almost 100% universal so it can move between projects if I ever decide efi sucks and want a carb (doubt it though)

No efi tank, just one of these

FiTech Fuel Injection

Put it up on jack stands and remove the rear wheels. At least it won't take off like a rocket if it falls off of the jack stands that way.

Finally drove by it today and the wife managed to get the pic.

Look familiar? its a 2wd f150. I drove by a f250 with the "snow fighter" (dana 60 front end) with the identical paint job a couple days ago in Montana.
