Default Need some suggestions from the Jeep guys.

A friend of mine just bought a 2016 unlimited wrangler 4 door. He's wanting to lift it about 3 1/2". He's not a hardcore wheeler, goes for some rides on beginner/easy to moderate trails. He's looking for a good performance kit with good road characteristics that won't break the bank. He's looking for a kit and doesn't really want to spend much more than a grand. I'll be helping him install, would prefer 100% bolt on but I don't mind having to do some small fab work for him if needed. He was looking at the Rusty's off road 3.25 kit and thinking about going with their remote reservoir performance shock.

Any input on this kit or other kits?

Thanks.

I put a 4.5 rough country in mine and i love it. But mine are leaf springs. For the 2016 jeep its 399.95 + 39.95 on ebay. Hope this healps.

I would recommend the MetalCloak kits.

They have a offroad ready package (True Dual Rate) or even the more AEV style expedition (sounds like his use) Overland.

Granted they aren't cheap, but they are high quality and built to last. Also they ride well on and offroad.

My 2.5" kit with (35" spare, heavy front and rear bumper) netted 3" of lift.

you get what you pay for with lift kits typically. Remote resi shocks aren't needed unless he is going to bomb some whoops or something.

I sell Jeep kits all day long. Most are great lifts! I'm a huge fan or Teraflex, great parts and just all around great guys! Rubicon Express was good until TAW bought them so I'd steer clear of them.

Aev all the way. Metal cloak would be my second choice. I manage an off road shop and we take out budget lifts in jeeps because people end up not liking them and 90% of the time they go with aev kits and love them. Don't ever skimp on suspension.
