Default GASSER! Duellym's 47 ford truck

Hi there, I've kinda been out of the toy truck world for a little and this is the reason.

It's a 1947 ford pickup truck I would like to turn into a traditional 60's gasser. It's got a 360 fe in it with a toploader 3 speed behind it and a 9 inch rearend. Now I'm a sophomore in high school so I'm not exactly rich, far from it in fact, and I'm gonna need to buy another car or truck to daily in the summer and winter months. With that said I'm gonna tell you how much money I have into so far... get ready for this...
$0.00
Yes and that includes the cost of the truck, I didn't pay a dime. Because it used to be my great uncles who sold it to my grandfather who gave it to my uncle who gave it to me. This same uncle ironically hates ford now. This thing is probably why. Basically everything on for it is either A.) Nonexistent B.) Done wrong C.) Broken or rusty in some way. And lastly D.) Covered in bondo.

Enough of that though let's get to some pictures.

First of here is the motor

Then there's the tranny. And oh, look at the botch job in that crossmember!

Here's a sorta blurry pic of the rearend

frame is mint though. But again another problem, look at the u bolts.

So here's where I started working on it. It started with me taking the primer off the fender. I found this.

Much bondo.

So I just covered that up for now and decided to not worry about it... yet.

Anyway so I started checking the mechanical things on it.
Starting with the fuel pump/filter.

And the gas tank. And when I lifted the seat up I found a lovely suprise.

Yummy.
Got that mess squared away and BAM!

quite honestly the inside of the tank looks pretty good.

So then I got tired of hitting my head on the hood every five minutes and took that off.

That gives you an idea of how low the motor really sits, the motor mount crossmember is mounted really badly too so it's going in at least 3 inches lower too. Then there's this issue.

The metal thing at the bottom of the pic is the front axle and the blue this g on top is my oil pan, that isn't a very big problem though, putting a 4x4 pan on or lifting the front end a bit will solve that.

Then we get to here, and the rear of the truck. Check out my u bolts!

Isn't it cool how they bend in like that!?
that should come with a warranty to break.
So then I decided to do some garage and old chicken coop hunting to see what else we have for it laying around.
Got a window out of the ordeal.

And a supertach.

And check this out its got vacuum powered windshield wipers!

I think that bring you all up to date, hope you enjoy the long process of all of this as much as I do.

What's that chewed up piece of metal that is on the camera side of the oil pan sump and above the axle........and what appears to be a steering stabilizer?

that is the bottom of the motor crossmember. The way some of the parts are put in is terrible.

Nice truck, it's a blank canvass, you can do whatever we you want with it. My dad had a 47 Ford panel truck and it turned out really nice, had a Nova subframe up front, 12 bolt Chevy rear, and a 350 350 turbo combo. I'll try and post a pic for motivation.
