This was my day yesterday...

All because some "farm mechanic" tried to change transmission oil and pulled the shift detent out instead of the fill plug last year and trans had a ball bearing bouncing around it all year.

I ride a 900S. It'd be tough to fit an XP where I ride.

There are new SXS's from Honda, Cat,Can Am, XP, and Yamaha. Yamaha and AC might have a supercharged motor. Honda rumors are paddle shifting and Can am might be high HP light weight all new machine.

I have never owned one but I have spent a LOT of time with them. Company I used to work for did nothing but SXS.

Rhino we built for a customer and he told us we could take it to the track. Pic from practice, I'm in the passenger seat.

Broke the factory spindle and caused us to dig into the berm and flipped us over. Pulled the suspension out of the frame.

We took three rigs to the track that weekend and they all had something broken on them by the end of the weekend.

Ramp and RZR we built for a backflip. Took it to the Lucas Oil Offroad race in Las Vegas to pull the flip. Caleb Moore was driving during the flip.

Also did some work for Doug Siddens for his run at Pikes Peak in a RZR. If I remember correctly we did the wings and worked on the suspension and did the wheels and tires. I know there was more but that's what I remember.

IMHO, I don't know why Polaris built the 1000s. It's a 900 with a tad more power. The S models are nice rides but lack the suspension travel to really handle well at speed. The 900 has more than enough power to go further than the suspension will allow. The xp1000 has a tad more power and near double the wheel travel to soak up big whoops, jumps, rock gardens and more. I'm not dogging the s models, they work well for many folks, they are just more suited to slower trail cruising and just general trail riding. When a guy wants to go bigger and faster, they just don't have the travel to handle the bigger stuff without an aching back and sore arms.

IMHO, I think the other companies have some catching up to do if they wanna beat Polaris in the high performance class. I would LOVE to see Honda enter the performance class with a 1000cc car with paddle shifters and 18+" of travel. I believe it would be the fourtrax 250r of the SXS world. There was a lot of hype behind the new Yamaha SXS. I'm not really impressed with it, with a little more research and development it could become a good car.
