Default My 1970 Dodge Charger

Wow, Its been a LONG time since I've updated anything here on RCC, BUT I've finally achieved something from my bucket list !! I've wanted an early Dodge Charger since I was 16 years old, and last December, that dream finally came true !! I scored a 1970 Charger from Arizona ( i.e ZERO rust, which is HUGE living out here on the east coast !!). Its currently got a 383 big block, and 727 auto tranny, BUT I'm planning on putting in something HUGE motorwise ( either a 440, OR a built HEMI), and to top it all off, It'll be supercharged, which I've already got down in the basement !! . The plan is to build a clone of the "Fast & Furious" car from the first movie (2001), and I'm already halfway there. I looked forever to find the "correct" set of wheels & tires for it, (correct size, backspacing, etc) and I even had to eventually have "American Racing" custom make me the correct rear rims for it, BUT I've already got them, so It'll be smooth sailing from here on out !! . I'll post up some pics if anyone's interested in seeing it so far

So how bout I post pix of MY 1970 Dodge Charger, lol. According to the '70 Charger Registry, there's only 2 other cars with more options.
It has a Power Lock Sure Grip 3:91 with a Gear Vendors Overdrive tailshaft.
2 7/8 tti header tubes into 3 inch all the way back.
A vacuum pump & MSD 6al are bolted to the bottom of battery tray.
Engine is a 426 Hemi stroked out to 472. 550 HP & TQ @ crank. Iirc, it was low 400, high 390ish HP @ the tires. It took 2nd at a dyno day put on by the local parts house.

The #'s matching drivetrain is in retirement.

Nice. I like that green, almost black.

Are your upper door pads soft vinyli=ish or metal?
Photoshop a blower with that last pic & you're done, lol. Looks like a great start.
I don't know, to me it's too nice of a car to be re-restoring?

Hi Mike, Yes my upper door pads are wrapped in vinyl. And yes your correct, shes a great candidate for a custom build. The green paint looks good in the pics, but honestly in person I think it sucks - Its blotchy, Its got noticeable "tiger-stripes", and overall I'm just not a fan of the paint job, SO It'll be going fully black this winter ! When I bought it, it was already a non-numbers matching car, so the "sky/Budget"s the limit on this build as far as I'm concerned. Just got to find the right motor, and give it hell from there !!

Nice!

I also remember my friends car after he replaced the rear quarters on it. After a while it developed small stress cracks in front of the rear wheels from all the hard launches!
