Default New "Toy"

Just picked up a new (well new to me) Toyota Tacoma. It's a 2000, 3.4L 5 Speed with about 200K on it. Has a 6" Fabtech Suspension under it with 35" General Grapper AT2s. Picked it up super cheap, needs a little tlc but otherwise I believe it's going to be a fun truck to cruise around town and up in the Uintas in...

Picked up a set of front and rear Yukon 5.29:1 gears for this ol' girl plus the bearing kits. Going to toss in a locker in the rear too. Maybe an ARB or an electric locker. Not sure yet which route I'm going to do just yet....

Already replaced the timing belt and water pump along with the tensioner and idler pulley. Also tuned it up with a fresh set of plugs, wires and coils as well as the fuel filter. I had to replace all 4 ball joints and sway bar links. Been loving this thing to just run around in, plus it helps me keep the mileage down on the truck a bit. It drives surprisingly well considering how tall it is...

Well... my Taco threw a rod on me on Friday... I have a totaled 2006 Chevy Silverado with a good and strong under a 100K 6.0L/4L80E combo in it... Do I feel a swap in my near future?...

Now I know this is a forum for toy trucks, but I also know many of us including myself also build the real deals... that being said has anybody on this forum done this or know of somebody who has? I have swapped LS motors into other GMs before but not a Toyota....

Finally got around to swapping a GM 6.0L/4L80E into this Toy... Got the engine/trans mounted in it as well as a Dana44 and leafs up front... turns out even with the lift the oil pan wouldn't clear the stock diff... I also put 37"s on it with a used set OMF beadlocks…. not running yet but should be soon.
