Z71baja's 63 SS Nova. ========SMO'KUM

When I turned 40 last year I told my wife I wanted a muscle car. My last muscle car was a 72 SS Chevelle that I traded for a 72 4x4 GMC Jimmy right before I bought my Silverado. So my Craigslist search began for a 70 SS Chevelle but it was like date rape.....these bad boys are overpriced but worth it, just out of my budget. Finally I looked into lil Novas and I found this original SoCal car.

Parts list so far:

327 bored to a 336
Bowtie overdrive 700r4
Church Boys Racing rack and pinion suspension with coil overs and 2"lowering leafs
10 bolt with GM factory posi 3.73

And the rest is, well here she is:

And right away it went straight across the border to an old timer they call "Huarache" that only works on classics. He's the cheaper version of Chip Foose's OVERHAULIN. Cuts and welds with little to no bonds

Floor boards were intact with little to no rust

But the qrt panels needed some work and it was easier to replace them

And mini tubed it

Man, I really like the look of that in the first picture. I would be too tempted to drive it just like that!"thumbsup"

I'm envious of all you people that don't live where I do, in the "rust belt", if we ever find a car like that it usually costs "stupid" money.:roll:

Wow:shock:!!! I forgot about this thread. I’m on a site called StevesNovaSite and it has derailed me from this hobby. I’m even getting rid of all of my RC stuff.

But yeah, I was fortunate to find this car with a decent patina. Body work and paint is all done. I didn’t think the installation of the side windows would be a serious PIA, but they’re almost done and I just got started on the AAW wiring harness, then it’s off into the engine bay.
