Default 1987 yj...

I had this 1987 Jeep Wrangler basically fall in my lap... It's a super clean rust free YJ, I've owned 3 others much newer in way rougher shape. This one has a gm performance crate small block in it with a Holley tbi fuel injection system. Runs and drives well just needs a little fine tuning. Previous owner painted it, not sure I love the "camo"... Anyhow pics for anybody the cares to see it

Thank you!

Yes it's manual, and unfortunately it's the Peugeot BA5... It's probably not going to last long. Actually took it out and drove it a little today... It won't make a good crawler though, it's high performance crate engine doesn't really hit it's powerband until about 3000 rpms... It's fun to drive though.

Yes, thats the BA10 Peugeot. Good news if you didn't already know is the ax15 is a direct swap in and can handle mild V8 power. Nice Jeep BTW. If it still has the Dana 35 might keep that in mind...

Yeah, been doing a little research on swaps, both trans and axles. I have 3 used NV4500s out of second gen Cummins trucks that we swapped nv5600s into, thinking about rebuilding one and swapping it in... as far as axles go I have a few sets of 1 ton axles too... but I'm not sure I'm going to do much to this until I get the LS swap done on my Tacoma.

27-0011T : Dodge 29 Spline NV4500 to Chevy V8 small Block & Jeep NP231 Transfer Case | Advance Adapters

Your Jeep may have a NP207 but the spline count and pattern is the same. Yours may have the 231 also. I think some early YJ's got the 207 tho. The NV4500 would be the best option IMO. And 1 Tons of course would be sweet.
