How much time weekly are you devoting to this project?
Typically after work I am out there from 6 to 10-11 (last couple months 11-11:15). On the weekends 7am to 10pm. This has been since december so ya can say I am a bit devoted to making it happen with about 2 weeks worth of not working on it.

Getting closer.

So I busted ass and was able to get a portion of the car done. So from the wall behind the seats to the tail of the car is now done. Everything to this point I have been pretty happy with how it has turned out....

So its time to dig into this part and get the motor wired up. One of the things I really enjoy doing.

So as my normal routine I start by pulling all the wiring covering off...

And the harness is sectioned and labeled and ready to build.. So now the fun begins as I build all my harness to fit the rig and motor needs....

So before I could continue with the engine wiring I had to get a portion of my last issue done--that being the air filter. First though I had to modify the inlet on top of the throttle body to make the rest of the air filter setup more feasible to do. The inlet is odd with a clip that grabs the front side and a retainer on the rear. So the material its made of is actually very easy to work with and welds nicely. So I started by cutting it up and finding a happy place for the inlet to point and this is what I came up with...

And the Maf sits right on the modified top. Its still a tight bend but with the ideas I have I should be able to make it all work once my air filter finally shows up.

So the vortec motors use a nice assembly to hold the plug wires. I figured I would try and see if I could use those brackets and it took a lil modification to make them work but they worked better than I would have thought. More wiring too..

Because I hate burning up plug wire boots. I did this on my old rig and it worked perfect plus now they are allot harder to access..

So I tried like heck to make sure the chassis was perfect prior to paint but found one problem. It seems I made the electrical center mount too perfect and tight to where once its in place and wired the inner panel won't be able to be removed since it has to raise to move away from the mounts and the wiring is unde,r the tube so it won't be able to raise.

So started by removing the old mount carefully and making a new one and repainting the area...

I was pretty bummed that I wasn't able to pull off what I wanted without having to change anything on the chassis.

Next I had to modify the inner panel where it mates up to the electrical center. Prior there was matched holes to the center but with it this way I can lower both items to remove the inner panel.

And now the mount is spaced off the electrical center and has room to move.

I got all the lines ran up and the steering reservoir mounted and the steering spacer installed that my buddy matt made for me. At this point I filled the system and for the first time the wheels turned---making progress...
