Time for some steering parts. I wanted to run a hopped up P pump but unfortunately the upper link kinda goes right in the middle of the stock bracket. So I said screw it and ordered a new pump and figured I would just make a bracket. Another idea I wanted to do was re-use my york for OBA. Well there was no way in hell that was going to fit so that will have to get addressed later on but for now lets get this pump mount made.

And I got the new pump bracket made. I was able to get it in a good spot and didn't have to mess with any of the other factory pulleys. Took a couple tried to get the right belt--but thats done.... Will bounce back to more of it after a few more things are done. |

Time for more tin work. Like I stated this is being built more for trail and I wanted as much enclosure as I can get. So time to work at the foot area and started on the passenger side.. So each side will consist of 2 panels. One on the motor side and one on the outer side. These were rather tricky since I needed both parts to met in the middle and attach at a bent edge.. |

Now the driver side was even harder as I needed to try and make an indent for the gas pedal...

Now my idea is (not sure if it will be doable) to have the outer panels removable so if I wanna go play in the rocks I can see my tires. I am not sure with what else needs to go on the rig if it will still be doable but that will be my desire.

One of the main reasons to get those panels done was I had a spot I wanted to put my steering reservoir but I needed the panels in place first to see if it was possible--and it was. So that got mounted and plumed to the pump feed.

So for years I had this odd signature and that was to use a mountain dew bottle for a radiator reservoir. Now I had done this numerous times and it just felt very fitting to actually do it on mine. This time thought I stepped up my game and went kinda fancy on the holder. It has a draw straw like the factory toyota's have and hopefully should work out. In any case I thought it was kinda cool..

I ordered a bunch of radiator hose pieces since I knew there was no way to do a single hose and I ABSOLUTELY hate those accordion style hoses. The lower actually went better than planned. |

The upper was a little harder. For some silly reason gm made the upper necks really odd shaped and for a 1 1/4" hose. Instead of trying to make it work and go from 1 1/4" to the 1.5" neck I chose to just make a new neck. Once that was done the hose was simple and fitment was perfect...

So earlier I stated I needed to look at other options for my OBA system. After a bunch of reading I went ahead and got the new dual arb pump setup. I found a sweet spot for it right behind the passenger seat. One thing I have learned doing this rig is you need to use every available spot to fit something and I am using that to its full extent. So the spot I wanted it I needed to add some support for it. I didn't think it was wise to mount the thing (its not really light) directly on the back wall so I added a piece of tube and a plate to help support it.

So something else I needed was an air tank and some place to mount my arb solenoids. I was shocked when I was able to find a good spot for the tank that was on my toyota although I had to reword all the fitting locations and I added one at the wall side for an air hose for tires and tools....

So I finally figured out what I was going to use to pin the hood down. I found these nice hood pins with a polly mount so they have some give. Got the pin side mounted to the chassis...

And then the hood side and I was worried with the the front pins angled forward due to the angle of the hood causing problems with putting on/removing the hood and the polly base of the mount made it no issue at all...

My column and orbital mount showed up so I spent some time playing with the angle and found a happy spot and tacked it into place..

New rear view mirror. For years I been needing to put one back in my toy as I always seem to be the lead guy and always turning my neck--no more... Its a 14" concave one and I love the view.... |

So time to figure out the dash and yet again the cardboard came out. I had a rough idea stuck inside my head and lets see if I can actually get it out...
