Dodge srt4

About a month ago I pick this up a 2008 Dodge Caliber srt4. with a little bit of mods done to it made 320 hp and 357 foot pounds of torque on the dynohttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f05c8dcad6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2630d7ff72.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2fd0c95673.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...61cbf91761.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6afb149aad.jpg

Cool ride. They make a good sleeper because they don't look fast at all then they blow by you. When I still had my 14 mustang gt I raced one expecting to make him look foolish and couldn't lose him. We didn't gain an inch on each other from launch to 160 km an hour where I let off.

How much does that thing weigh? It looks heavy. My one and only adventure into the front wheel drive turbo econobox was a 2008 Cobalt SS. It made about 260hp/300tq and ran a high 13 in the 1/4. I couldn't get over how cheap it was built and the horrible torque steer. I traded it in on a 2011 Mustang GT when they came out and put a Whipple on that and never looked back.

Got any tips for brake parts? I'm starting to collect parts to put basically the same front brakes on my Chrysler 200, starting with the Euro-Market caliper brackets to start with. I've got them on order, but I'm waiting to see if that order doesn't get kicked when the place I ordered through on line outs it in to Chrysler.

I'm curious when does the power come on? The picture is far to blurry to tell what the RPMs are.

The Neon SRT4s are no joke and you can easily get big power out of them.

I've always loved the look of the Calibers. Nice ride.

This is why i stepped away from the 4 cyl turbo thing. I had a 2007 Legacy GT SpecB with turboback and tune, and the thing was worthless below 3k rpm and then it ran out of breath by 5500. This was after owning a 2006 GTO which made torque at any rpm. It spoiled me.

That said, the new GTDI motors hit hard down low. My 2014 F150 Ecoboost made 18 psi at 1700 rpm today on the way to the airport. At 6500’ lol.

What are the odds... former 2005 GTO owner here. Those cars and spring sag lol! You want to talk about torque!? I picked up an '18 1LE with the LT1 last year. That thing makes torque so low its it's silly.

I really miss my gto. I loved it but it was an only car, 2 door, rwd, in new england and was pretty useless. I was very close to buying another recently, but im gunna wait a year or two and get all my student loan debt paid off first.

The 1LE’s are no joke. Awesome car. And yes the new 6.2 GM motors are animals.

If you ever get a chance, drive a tuned ecoboost F150. They will make 500 ft-lbs to the rear wheels at 3000 rpm, and not much less at 2000. For a truck motor it is incredible.

What few mods did you do before tuning?

My little sister has an SRT4 neon. Like 6yrs ago we did a fuel pump, aem wideband, downpipe with e-cutout, and diablo tuner. Put it on the rollers and tuned it. Maxed out the turbo at 260hp, 330tq, we are at 4600ft elevation, it has a pretty good effect on us lol. It has been sitting in her garage for a few years now. Now has an aftermarket wastegate (stopped making boost, wastegate died) and will probably use a different boost controller (a 3 or 4 port boost solenoid). Going to put it back on the rollers soon since she has decided to start driving it again.
