Most of my Rc have become shelf queens My slash 2wd easily is my most expensive at around 2000 in the many versions it has gone through followed by my scx-10.

All three of my real cars I have bought for under $700.

2000 Saab 9-5 wagon. $700. I’ve put close to $2200 into it since January. I guess it is a super rare version. Only 650 made in the world. Of those only 156 were brought to the us in black.

94 Saturn sw2 paid $250 for it 6 years ago. It now has close to 4500 into it. Just installed the rebuilt the motor and tranny this week. Trying to rack up the miles so I can slap the turbo set up on it.

79 Chevy luv pick-up. Paid $20 3 years ago. Put maybe $800 into it. Getting ready to do a motor swap into it this fall.

Guess I should add mileage too
Saab 170k miles
Saturn 260k miles
LUV 101k miles

I love Luvs. That was the first truck I fell in love with when I was a kid. Some guy that's fairly local has a perfect example that he still drives around. Sadly most of them rotted away.

Yah my first car/truck was a 80 luv. A bright yellow one with the big huge 4x4 logos on it. At the same time my dad had this one. It has been sitting in his barn for close to 20 years when I told him I wanted it.

Wish someone would make a hb of one. I looked at converting a tf2 or Tamiya body into one but never got around to it.

I love Saturns! I miss my '95 SL2 and have been eying 95 and 2000+ SW2's, just couldn't pull the trigger on one. So instead I'm looking at expanding my kei car collection lol

What kei cars? Maybe I’m think of two different types. The old Chrysler’s k car or the tiny japanize kei car.

The saturns have been my thing for over 10 years now. Owned 5 or 6 of them. Turbocharged 3 of them. It took me 3 years to actually get the owner of this sw2 to sell it.

The tiny Japanese kei cars, not Chrysler K-cars :p.

I had two SL2's, a '92 and '95. Considered buying an Astra when they were new, but ended up with a Chevy HHR SS instead, because we didn't get the Astra OPC/VXR and I wanted turbo power.

What does a 2000$ slash look like? Never really been into sct's is it just a load of carbon fiber parts? And that luv is pretty damn cool! LS swap? lol

Full anza conversation.
Tekin rs pro esc.
Novak 13.5 ballistic pro with sealed end bell ( being an of-road truck)
Hitec hs-5996tg
Pro- line wide are suspension ( can’t remember the real name of it)
AMCM?? Aluminum sealed rear diff.
All links ti

Then there is also all the spare parts in that value also. Extra motors depending on track rules. Extra arms and shock mounts. Extra sets of shocks and springs. And tons of wheels and tires. It was really bulletproof though

Yah it was a race truck. That is why it sits now. Been wanting to get another one just to bash around with.

Sorry pretty dusty. Lol

No on the ls swap. More like half the cylinders. Lol. To do a v8 I have to do a straight axle conversion on the front. I’m not willing to do that to this truck. So it is going to be a simple fuel injected 4 banger. Which is still going to be almost 50-75 more hp then what’s in there. Lol

Wasnt thinking about all the spare parts and such i can toataly see that adding up quickly... Not to hip on luv engine swaps but have you thought about a small turbo deisel? I do know those little 1.8 (i think) vw deisels get put into samurais all the time....

I thought about the Cummings 4bt. Then I found out how tall it was. Would need a 6” cowel induction hood to keep under the hood. Lol. I’m sure the vw motor might be cheap to get a hold of now. Or maybe the other way around.

Would have to see how the oil pan sits on them. That is the biggest factor on the luv. It has a right hand front diff. Most oil pans won’t clear it. There was a guy trying to put a 4.3 v6 into one but gave up.

Isuzu had a deisel in some of the luvs. A few have had luck building them up. The same motor is still sold in forklifts and such.

This is what’s in it now. A 80hp 1.8. The head is actually the same as the geo storm and Isuzu impulse. The impulse was a turbocharged motor. Almost impossible to find a complete one nowadays

Any way you go thats a cool old truck... Only reason i bring up a deisel is because in a truck like that i think torque is much more usefull then hp and could easily get 25+ mpg.... would a turbo wake that isuzu much? Ive worked on alot of equipment with the 4bt those engines are built like a tank dang good motor and heavy! when you get started you should do a thread on it ide be all over that!
