SAS’d 1995 4Runner Just picked this up last night: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ec957df9ab.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8a4e249fdf.jpg I was searching for a stick shift XJ Cherokee and went and looked at 3 of them, but they were all beat and just generally rough. I was not looking closely at 4Runners but then this one came up. It is a 22RE motor with manual trans and has 5.29 axle gears, rear ARB air locker, roof rack and a few other goodies. The price was too good to pass up. I am at 6500’ of elevation and the 22RE definitely struggles. Its pretty much maxed out at 70-72 mph on flat freeway and when i get to big hills its foot to the floor doing 50 mph. |
Re: SAS’d 1995 4Runner Awesome! Congrats, she's a beaut! I had an '86 truck with the 22re when I lived in Colorado. Definitely a work horse 4 banger. I like the 2nd gen 4 runners. I was also looking at Cherokees but ultimately ended up with a 4th gen 4runner. Sadly, no a 4x tho. But, it's a great truck with plenty of capabilities for what I do with her. Enjoy your new Toy! |
Re: SAS’d 1995 4Runner Looks pretty sweet. What size tires? 35's? |
Re: SAS’d 1995 4Runner Quote:
33x10.5’s at the moment. It could probably use some 35’s because its geared so low. It spins like 3800 rpm on the freeway. |
Re: SAS’d 1995 4Runner Yeah, I would go with 35's with that gear. I had a 1990 pickup with 33" Truxxes MT's on it that I swapped 4.56 gears in and it was just about perfect. |
Re: SAS’d 1995 4Runner What specific BF Goodrich tires are those? I am currently checking out 4wheelonline for mud tires that I might buy for my Ford Raptor. |
Re: SAS’d 1995 4Runner nice work, i have a 87' runner with a SAS . best upgrade ever! |
