Holy update Batman
I took some time off from this but it’s back in full swing.

I got it power washed again.

Then got a fuel tank installed. It’s 17 gallons.

Then got a bracket for the carrier bearing knocked out.

And got the dash installed.

Complete with 6 disk cd changer!

Got a rear valance made and added 1968 country squire tail lights.

Also got fuel lines and filters and pump in.

Replaced the Lexus straight tube with a 45° and the k&n pod tucked right up to the core support.

It’s right in line with the holes in the core support where the original plastic snorkel would land.

Got the electric sorted out and it’s coming back to life.

Expansion tank is mounted

Heater hoses are installed, cooling system is plumbed.

Fuel supply, return, and vent are plumbed. Fuel system done.

The car’s battery was on the driver’s side. Truck’s tray is on the passenger side. A fender mounted isolation block makes a convenient tie in point.

Fresh ends and the electrical system is done.

And the awesomeness continues!

Using the Lexus dash is above and beyond. Is that even the cars carpet too? Your way better at recycling seemingly mix matched car parts than I.

What's going on in the pic with the back end all picked up?

Is the goal to have this street legal by the end?

The back end was picked up while power washing it.
And yeah. That’s the carpet from the car.
I have insurance on it now and I’m waiting for the registration to come back. I went with Year Of Manufacture historic plates. Max 1000 miles per year, but no inspections

The heated power leather seats are in.
The lighted vanity visors and power auto tint rear view mirror are in too.
So are the garment hook and map lights.

I was able to reuse the dual exhaust from the 302 just with a few couplers. The bends that went under the ford crossmember went over the crossmember I made for the Lexus trans.

Two trips to the junkyard later and the leaking thermostat housing is sealed and coolant is in.

Just some overall shots. It’s getting really close!

Everything is wet now. Trans, engine oil, power steering, brakes, coolant

Had a buddy who’s a body guy helping me get panel gaps set and hood on.

I finished up the exhaust with dual stacks because hot rod.

It doth go, stop, and steer at last!

So, like burnout video should follow soon?

You've done a great job combining two very different vehicles to make something that is truly one of a kind.

Is the dash littered in warning lights from deleted systems?

Thanks! It’s been a wild experience.
I did pull like 9 lights out of the dash so I’d avoid the Christmas tree effect.
I did put the scanner on for fun. There was an error code for the evap emission purge valve and air bag modules and abs.

I played with the forklift and the right side (left spring) is in full compression, while the left side (right spring) is in full droop.

Then I power washed 2.5 years of dust and grinder swarf and welding fumes off the hood and fenders and grill.

Sitting next to my other cool Toyota product, the mid engine, supercharged, all wheel drive previa van.

The truck was originally black before the 90’s era repaint. I was thinking about going black with some bright blue green pinstripes.

Got a front air dam installed to help hide the Lexus subframe.

Got it loaded up

And it’s home!

I got the historic vehicle registration back from the state and it’s legit!
