Default My LX470 Luxury Land Cruiser

Love this truck! Instead of talking about how much I love it, here are a bunch of photos and videos proving it!

Awesome pics. Really jealous of your terrain. Pretty ballsy dipping it hood deep with no snorkel. Broke any front cv's yet?

It's a Land Cruiser! Designed to wade water that high. The airbox was totally dry afterwards.

CVs holding strong. I carry a spare with me on the harder trails, though.

Nice videos! Obstacle avoidance by the camera drone looked quite good also.

Thanks! The drone is a Skydio 2, it's the best! Really makes it easy to just focus on driving. I launch and land through my sunroof!

Since I got this truck and started hanging out with Land Cruiser people, things have escalated rapidly:

Nice set up. I currently drive a 2001 lx470. Nothing crazy. AHC gone. ARB heavys with an ARB front bumper and warn 12 winch. Pretty basic but also pretty awesome vehicle.

Previous was a 1992 fj80. Small lift 33s and arb front and rear bumpers. Winch and a few other things. Roof rack. Loved it but I wanted newer and nicer. And we'll I hate I sold it. Had a 1995 with factory lockers and loved it. Land cruiser people are like jeep people (I used to be a Jeep only guy). Always nice to see others actually using their cruisers.

Sweet LX! Yeah a couple of my friends sold their 80s to get newer 4Runners or 100s or whatever and every single one of them regrets it.

Hey man, thanks for posting these pics. I'm sure there's bazillions of examples of 1/1 trail rigs on
other (1/1) sites but I'm not on any of those sites, so it's nice to have them here.

This gives a lot of detail ideas of real life accessories to add to models--good stuff.

Guess I better look at getting myself an offroad 'station wagon/grocery getter'...that C54 body kit is beckoning

Very inspirational...
This is exactly the sort of thing I want to do with whatever I end up getting for trails like you are doing here.
No crazy rock crawling, just nice peaceful overland type stuff.
I dig it man. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. I agree it's awesome to have 1:1s for ideas to use on RCs. And vice versa!

I agree Shinchu, this truck is great for this type of thing. So comfortable for long range travel but also incredibly capable. I am always surprised at the obstacles I can get through with this truck. I'll be going back to Moab in April and I've got some more trips planned for this year.

Thanks for letting me know. Nice choice of wheels and tires, by the way. I am considering getting a set of Nitto Ridge Grappler tires for my truck too.
