It's all fun, the only thing the big tires and motors changed is how deep the snow can be before we get stuck.

I'm really suprised the old 302 is running as well as it does. Without the blower I could only run 1st gear in deep powder. With the blower I can now bang through 2nd and it'll hold 3rd pretty good once it gets on top.

Awesome rig Griz!

Reminded me of our desert runs through the washes we used to run. Lots of power and wheel speed to keep your momentum. Although that snow looked pretty sticky.

Is that a trail system you run, or just a mountain road?

Bahhh, never had any problems with my Yota in deep snow runs. Lead truck gets a serious workout and you gotta watch all your temps even though its' cold out.

Nice vid, but why don't ya guys chain up? Chains help alot, but still get plenty of spin.

The motor is all stock, that silver thing is just part of the fuel injection. Thanks DJ.

Yeah, sometime I need to get a windshield sicker for it. Thanks Slobin.

The Red Bronc is a '67. It's got a built 418 stroker, ArtCarr C6 tranny, a reverse rotation Dana 60 up front with CTM 300M axleshafts and CTM U-joints, a Corporate 14bolt out back, an Atlas 3.0 t-case, and 39.5x16.5x17 Pitbull Rockers. That's just the basics.

Yeah, I tend to scream and giggle like a schoolgirl sometimes. Thanks Harley.

You could keep up, you might not be able to break trail in some spots, but you could keep up.

Nice Bronco, I bet it would do well in the snow.

Thanks Dez, it's alot like running in the desert and sand. That's one reason it's so fun, we don't get to play in the desert so snow will have to do. This one is an actual trail system. Many times though, we will run on just forest access roads when the snow gets to 4ft or so.

In that area we have an average of 2ft I think, with drifts up to 4.5ft. Higher up or further north there's quite a bit more.

Three reasons: Chains for 40" tires are really expensive, chains spinning at 40 to 45 mph are quite dangerous, and really we don't need them. We can almost always get where we want without getting stuck. We've busted drifts that were up to the hood.
You are correct, temps are very important on the lead trucks. That's why we have huge radiators and up to 3 tranny coolers. Our limit now is exhaust temperature. The exhaust on the red Bronc can get so hot it melts the Rhino lining on the interior floorboards and we've had more than one guy catch the carpet on fire.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll post up more video as I get it. The next run at the North Sand Hills near Walden should be good. Marlin will be trying out his 650hp Turnkey Engine Supply LS7 and 46" Baja Claws.
