Stu, I've been staring at my neighbors 4 door non runner and been trying to talk him out of it. You're building the 1:1 of my next project

I have a buddy who has 13 AMC Eagles sitting at his house, and probably enough parts to build 30 more if you brought him a bare shell.

And that's only a FRACTION of the AMC stuff he has.

His shop is AMC heaven.

I wanna see more of whatever that is up behind the SX/4 on the shelf. What is that?!?!?!

Good God, I thought the Scout brought the loonies out of the woodwork Y'all are nuts!

Started the fun part - sanding. And made bumpers from some C-channel.

Jav, the project on the shelf is my late T-bucket project. I put on the Camino shell because the wire wheels exploded at 40 mph, so it needed a late-model body. But I sort of stole the battery, receiver and speed control from it

Hit a little snag with this build. Looks like I'm gonna have to do a tear-off on the hood and give it a little curve at the trailing edge. The shape of the cowl and windshield is bothering me.

Something to do when I get back from Montana....

So, six months later it may be time for an update, yeah?

A little flat black and a lot of sanding to give it that scuffed-up look (I'm not BigBaller, I don't wheel show cars) The grille is carved from foam, headlights are Lexan and chrome tape. I hacked up a 1:1 turn signal for the amber lights.

Painted up some MSD's, still waiting on the new tires.

Still to do: interior, rear bumper and most of the glass.

Stu,

Looking good, glad to hear you still have some time for the little rigs. Do you carry around any small rigs while you're over-the-roading?

this is funny.
I had an 81 SX/4, handled like a gokart but it only had the 151 4 banger, so it was quite the turd as far as power goes. also had an 80 wagon too, used to drive lengthways down snow banks in the winter, what a tank, flew straight and level when I jumped it.
