nice build so far but if you're designing your own frame turn the front suspension around, the shackle should be at the rear end of the spring.

A flexible frame would work very well indeed, but i'm not going down that road. Might crack my body with to much flex in the frame! Heheh, no i'm kidding. I just want some more weight in the actual frame, that should keep the COG nice and low. @sweli: I haven't lengthened the chassis yet. But i will. Look a couple of post earlier, there is a picture of how i made the body. I think it looks pretty similar to the real thing. @dieselfuel: I've tried changing the front suspension around, but the axlestub (for the driveshaft) then pointed down. Even with the wedges between the axle and the springs. But i'm making some M-shackles too, so maybe then i can get the axlestub to point in the right direction. I could change the shape of the chassis altogether. I'll give it a try, thanks for the heads up. |

Some more drawing done. Got the front bumper with the winch in, some rocksliders and a bottomplate in the middle and down at the rear. Oyeah, i've changed the wheels and tyres to 1.55" and RC4WD mudthrashers. Looks so much better doesn't it? Also tried to change the front suspension around, but it just keep coming out wrong. So i'm keeping it as is for now. This is how i plan to fix the body. The front will be fixed with either magnets or velcro i think. And the winch on the bumper. Still needs a stinger or something, but i'll get to that later. And some pics of the body. Altered the rear clod bumper a little, so it looks more like the real thing. It sits about 5 or 6 mm closer to the body. But it still seems to be "hanging" a little. Need to fix that. That's it for now. Now i need to get the framerails and the sheetmetal for the bottomplates plates cut. |

Front Bumper and winch: It will probably be a "funcional bumper", so i'm fixing it to the new chassis, not the body. Thinking about adding a stinger, but not sure yet. I'll try with some round 6mm aluminium. Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking. |

Maybe something like this for a simple stinger / protection bar for the winch: |

Thanks guys! i'm not sure about the look of the stinger either. But i would like a protectionbar of some sort for the winch. I'll try some other designs.

Thanks guys! @66sprint6: Have a look at Obijuan's crewcab, that thing is sick and work pretty good on the rocks. Here's the thread: Chevy Crew Cab He also has some movies of it. Excellent rig |

Your Burb is lookin great, I've been checking on it since you started. I want to do a Burban after I get my 4 door done. but then I have a thing for them ole clod bodies anyway. (hope you don't mind) Keep up the great work, I will be using your build as a guide someday, and I like the bigger tires and a tad bit of lift |

Same here. If I ever get tired of my new K10 build, I'll be doing another Suburban conversion. Probably with with some large tires and barn doors.

Your crewcab is very cool by the way, loving the opening hood and gearbox placement.

I have made (well, drawn) the mounting of the body now, so that i can change the height of it on the chassis. That way i can use both big and smaller tyres
