Looking good mike, the 12" UTE chassis works much better for what you are after.

They are Styrene strips that I bought at the LHS and then measured out the spacing and glued in...was probably one of the hardest parts (getting the spacing right). I think the size (width) and thickness is pretty good, they make a bunch of different sizes so if you want the size send me a PM and ill get it to you

My brother just bought this for 2k cash. It runs smooth. We did swamp lake trail in it last weekend, and no breaks. BTW its a 85 with EFI, rare, great find. I also live in Fresno, home to both Trail Finder AND Marlin Crawler, and we just walk in the shops to find what we want.

I really like your R/C builds, but come on. . . .

Wow, cool. You and your brother are the best. That Toyota is the best one I have ever seen! And the fact that you live so close to Trail Finder AND Marlin is also the best. And you can really just walk into their shops and find what you want? That has to be the best. I wish I lived in Fresno near you guys. We would have the best time just hanging out and talking about how cool it is to be us. Then we could talk trash about other people that dont have 1.1 trucks as cool as your brothers. We could also chest bump and high five whenever we hear of someone who didnt get a deal as good as your bro did on his 1.1, then we can shame 'em. Shame 'em all!!!! BTW I also think if they dont get a good deal on a rare, great find, we should point that out to them, then shame them again! We are going to have so much fun. I cant wait.

yea we don't get good deals like that in the north east cause shit rots.
when shit rots it dies.

when shit dies it becomes worth money.
when shit becomes worth money it gets sent fresno.
when shit gets sent to fresno it is purchased cheap.
when shit gets purchased cheap it gets sent back to the great north east.

damn i wish i rented a room in the back of eddie vedder's motor coach.
then we could all move to fresno and become famous.

You know, you people crack me up...you come to our site here and just think you are some sort of primadona because you have a BOUGHT built 1:1... Allow me to put you in your place...

MY R/C collection, could buy that truck of your brothers about 10x over... And that is no Joke...I just sold 3 of my trucks 2 weeks back for just under 3gs. Congrats on buying an already built truck, that must have been a lot of fun rebuilding the engine from the block up...O wait...you didn't do that because it runs "smooth" right? Must have had even more fun putting that SA in...O wait, you bought an 85...didnt have to... Congrats on living next to marlin, must be nice to walk in and grab what you want...I did what most normal people do and called and ordered my front bumper and sliders from them...

Some people, prefer to BUILD there own trucks...the way they want it to be and so they know it will hold up to more then one trail ride...I have rebuilt my engine from the block up, new bearings and everything. I have a 3" trail-gear SAS kit in the garage and have an 85 front axle here at work with 4.88s, ARB locker, and Bobby Long Birfs... although judging by your tude, youll probably be one of those who buys and scx10, slams a hilux body on it with every scale accessory he can find and thinks he has the greatest scale rig of all time.

You have a lot to learn Drunk...you dont join our forum here and mock senior members. Respect is earned here, I suggest you sit back and do a lot of reading before opening your mouth again

Updates later guys, I have the body here at work with me...Bed is repainted and is getting rhinolined and the front inner fender is nearing completion

-Mike

Maybe you shouldn't be so angry? Then you could post more pics of this build.

Drunk

Edit: Yes I own a SCX, but no, no hilux.

He's not angry, just defending himself. Your post was a bit out of line, did it make you feel better about yourself or something?

Truck looks good Mike, I always like following your builds! Hopefully I can see it in person someday!

Not angry at all, just defending myself...You came into MY thread and posted YOUR BS... Normally I would delete all the BS but I want everyone to see just how cool you are, I am sure you'll make lots of friends here... And yeah you are right, if I didnt have to deal with ignorant posts like yours on here I would probably have more time to share my build.
