thanks, I wanted this to look as realistic as possible while still being very capable, I think the X trail does that.

Looking very nice so far Joe! I'm still a little partial to the dark forest green with black top though... |

It's already past the point of over-engineering. I hit that when I mounted the steering servo with screws rather than hot glue No progress last night, I got sidetracked with a supermoto ride and some rum-and-cokes with the GF.

| Finally an update
First off let me say that on all my rigs, flexibility is a key to saving money. I swap Rx's between all my vehicles and even swap ESC's. This makes the electronics and wires look like an afterthought I made a body mount out of some 2" wide AL. bent it up and put some velcro on it. the body is held centered by the frame rails hitting some styrene slides I put in the body. When I get the winch servo it will mount off this as well. The velcro is strong enough to hold up the whole rig. So I plugged everything in and took it for a spin on the backyard track: Overall I'm very impressed with the crawling ability with no weight in the wheels and very little flex. Next week is body mods, paint and winch placement. |

I havent updated in a while. I put some Little Harry's on it to see how a little more weight would do till my 1.55's got here Here's some pics: Then I cut down some blue rovers just so see how they looked And here's how it sits since last night with the 1.55 rock stompers and stamped 1.55 wheels Next on the list is some metal sliders, and some metal low profile bumpers Last edited by engineerjoe; 01-14-2010 at 01:21 PM. |

I've been impressed with the grip so far, but the little nuts that RC4WD gives you keep coming loose. I've lost 1 drive pin already. I'm gonna come up with something else. Here's a few pics of the new treads in action: Palmer park: Garden of the Gods:
