Cool looking build. Is it just the photos or does the rear wheelbase look to long? Either way great job!

Tommy

I have been watching the build and it turned out great.

Are the rock sliders mounted to just the body ? I can't tell but, if they are just mounted to the body you may develop cracking. If you take a big hit on the rock sliders the body might break all together. They need to be attached to the frame. It would be a shame she looks soooo.......Cool

If I have missed something in the thread then don't pay attention

Hey good luck on your TTC. The ORCRC one turned out great !!!!

It actually is a little long....a tick longer than I'd like, but the rear links are already shorter than I want so I'd need to shift the motor skidplate forward some more and I just don't feel like doing that right now. ;) But, most Jeep guys stretch the rear way more than the front so it's pretty realistic in that respect, but yes, it can look a little disproportionate.

alot of people stretch their wheelbase in 1:1 rigs such as jeeps and samurai's or any other short wheelbase truck

Thanks, Evan! Yes, the sliders are mounted directly to the body. I did add styrene to the bottom of the body after I cut it and then reinforced it. So far it's taken some pretty nasty hits and did well. I'd prefer to have them mounted to the chassis, but would not have gotten the look I was after....which is like the sliders I've got on my 1:1.

Thanks for the feedback!

This past weekend after the comp trucks were done we played around with the scalers. Here's some pics of the Jeep...

Poor thing is definitely showing some wear and tear!

The Jeep took countless big tumbles down the rocky hill all afternoon and finally had some carnage. Nothing a generous application of Pro-Weld won't fix!

In the next couple weeks I think I'll tear is all down and give it a nice repaint. It needs it!!

Decided to try some 1.9 Rock Lox on there. I actually kind of like it and I bet it performs better. I'll find out tomorrow!

So what do y'all think? 1.55 Rock Stompers or 1.9 Rock Lox?

You would say that!! LOL... Yeah, I think a revamp of this rig is in store soon. I'll repaint it, install clear windows, and maybe build some real metal tube fenders and corner guards. Gee, I wonder if anyone else has done that already. Maybe I could look around for some inspiration!

Keep up the great work on this rig, Tommy.

This is one of my favorite Jeeps on the forum. I really like the color and tube fenders.

Thanks, y'all! Yeah, I think the Rock Lox will remain, but I really need to do something to get this rig to sit lower. That's not going to be an easy task, however. But proportionally, it just doesn't look right and not to mention I don't like running a 100% droop suspension.

I'm wanting to make some other changes to the Jeep, too. And yeah, an interior is part of it, along with some fender liners, clear windows, new paint (still yellow to match my 1:1), and some stuff. I might also kill the rear tire carrier because it hurts the performance so much! :(
