Default K5 Clod body build, with interior and engine bay

Bought this K30 from smm-cbf, who got it from racer4life. I pulled the body apart to fill in the sun roof and clean up a few little marks. Duplicolor paint messed up big time and the body had no where to go but the trash. So bought a K5 body for it the truck and again thanks to Duplicolor that body ended up in the trash as well. SO finally BadBKO build me another K5 body, only this time we stepped it up a whole nother notch and did an engine bay along with a full interior. I gave up on the cursed truck and sent it to Boareds29 for one of his epic famous paint jobs to modle after my old 1:1 mud truck.

This truck has been through so many changes Im making a new thread, here we go

The k30 it started out as.

Took the body apart.

Cleaned up and painted the old K2-3s chassis

When that bodied got all boogered up, I decided since im going to order a new bodied, and am going to have to do body work to get it where I want it, I may as well make it a K5 Blazer. Heres the my old 1:1 I was shooting for

Clint got to work and build the body for me

The beautiful paint Neil laid out for me

I have now changed out the out dated K2-3 chassis and four link for a more realistic leaf spring chassis and some Rock lox tires to match the way my old 1:1 was.

Heres how it sits, just needs steering, front bumper (both frame mounted), body and SDI emblems mounted up. Now that college on winter break, I should have no problem finishing this thing up any day now.

Still need to cut and finish the chassis, I think it's a little long

Small update, RCdirtslinger detailed the grill

Also changed the tire and wheel combo to 1.55 slingers and lowered the suspension down a little

some small updates as I get time.

Mirrors and wippers

Trailer hitch

Turned down TLT shocks, and steering in progress.

Topless pic

Still need to paint the chassis, finish the steering, make cab windows, and mount the electronics.

Steering is still in the works, it's fairly simple. Just like a stock HL only the servo is mounted on top of the frame, instead of the side.

That is a great looking body.
I've wanted to do a Clod body Blazer for a while and this is great inspiration. Keep up the great work, I love the 1:1.

Sliding glass. Sweet!

You were faithful to the look of the 1:1, too bad you couldn't get the era. Nice work.
