The Sammy will always be known as "Mr. Ed's Samurai". ...as a matter of fact, Mr. Ed is it's new nickname.

Ive had the pleasure of drivin this sucker too, reason its got some new gears in it , and not to add to the anticipation but it was a fun rig. Durable and fun. When you get it, take it slow, concider all your options and lines carefully then be amazed when it goes exactly where you tell it to. Its not as point and shoot as the bigger tire boys, which makes it all the more fun to me at least. Once you get used to it and learn the rig up down and around you and MrEd will be unstoppable!!! The UPS truck came to see me! Styrofoam Peanuts!! I LOVE PEANUTS! The anticipation was almost too much! ..and here is MrEd! Test drove it around the house a little, it will take a little getting used too, but not much, we just need to "get to know" one another so to speak. If it doesn't rain this weekend I feel a trail ride coming on! |

Looks like I am going to have to work all weekend, so no trail rides. ...but I did find a few minutes to take it the "OKJeepin Testing Grounds" and give it a whirl! A little flex test. Anybody have any idea what those marks are on that rock? Handled the rock garden pretty good! New bumper sticker that I might need for awhile until I get used to driving it! All in all it did really well, I have to work on the radio a little. I can't get it to "set still", it's either creeping forward or backwards, throttle trim and sub throttle trim on the Traxxas TQ is not really helping...maybe I need a better radio? Any ideas? . Lookin good buddy! I can see you've been driving it good those sliders have fresh scratches on em I would go with a spectrum dx3e $100.00 ( 1 model memory only ) or the dx3c $ 130.00 ( has multi-model memory ) |

Yep, got some new scratches! Had a blast today. The DX3C is what my brother has and he seems to really like it, might have to pick one up.

My wife let me go out today and pick up a new radio today for the Samurai. I got a Spectrum DX3C, and I also picked up a XR10 kit for $130, so I picked up an additional receiver for it for when, if ever, I get around to building it! Man, the Sammy is awesome with a good radio, makes a world of difference! It kept making a "ratcheting" sound if I got it in a bind. I pulled the motor and looked at the pinion and spur gear, it all looked good besides the pinion set screw being loose. The pinion would not pass thru the motor plate and was very hard to tighten, so I used the dremel to open up the hole in the motor plate so the pinion could be put on the motor, then slide thru the plate which allowed me to get the set screw tight. After some adjustments I think I have it fixed. The more I dig into, the more I love this little thing! See that thing in the upper left? The wallet? Yep, it's empty... . |

My brother (Hoghead5150), and my son (Ryne), the Mafia twins... My brother just had back surgery, talk about dedication!! |

So are you impressed with the sammi or was we just talking a bunch of hype... Dude that thing will continue to surprise you ... I couldn't believe the stuff the sammi and sprints. Blue budget bronco would do.. On those small ass tires it'll still kill it.. Also it'll make ur driving better so when u do take a big tire rig out you'll really see how well the smaller tire rig has trained you ... Good luck on every going back to big tires... Lol J-bird |

We all took turns crawling with it and it took a little getting used to at first, but once you settled down, picked good lines and took your time, it would go places that I would have lost a bet on. I really would like to put an interior in it, but don't even know how to start, except just researching it on this forum and doing it....so stay tuned!

well i'm here to tell ya this little guy is awesome! quite possibily the best time i've had so far running r/c crawlers. i would have lost money on some of the obstacles this little guy conquered. i think this has set my next project. was thinking about building a sportsman rig, but i'm thinking a scale rig like this would be alot more fun! |
