YES!!! Very nice, have you gotten a chance to try out the new shoes on the rocks? I did my first set of sliders similar and will do another set here shortly, simple, clean and effective!

Thanks Matt! I have finally got a chance to drive it, and it is awesome. Ran it around this past weekend and couldn't believe how well it did. Definitely had perma grin the hole time!

Now for a little update. Decided to build a drop bed for it out of aluminum. Also while at one of the LHS's I found a brand new set of HPI RS4 touring shocks on the clearance rack, so decided to do away with the stock shocks and hoops. To my surprise, the truck does very well with them and now considering doing the same thing to my FJ40. Sure made for a clean bed install.

Bottom view, you can see the beading I did to get that factory look and also the tail lights.

One of the bed mounts.

Shocks mounted right to chassis.

A look at the inside.

Used 2-56 x .125 stainless screws to mate bed to body.

The bed looks awesome, any plans to paint it or will you leave it raw?
Keep up the good work and keep those pics coming.

Thanks! The beading was done with a machine that is used to put the gore seam on adjustable sheet metal elbows. I work at a HVAC/sheet metal shop, so have access to lots of cool tools. The bed it self, minus the fender wells, is formed in one piece and the beads are done while in the flat. It's really just a simple pan made from aluminum cooler skin, well simple if you have the right tools, but simple none the less.

Thanks Trenton! It was some that needed to be done. How do you have a shop if you can't hall stuff.

Bed looks awesome! You gonna hit it with bedliner or leave it aluminum? I wanna see some action shots with the new suspension setup!

Thanks Matt! Never thought about using bedliner....hummm, was just going to paint it and let it get scratched up. But might check into that.

I'll see if I get see time in the next day or so for some action shots and maybe a video. It works surprisingly well with the mix of stock shocks in front. I know some of the UTARDS use a set up similar and like it.

With the way you have it dimpled it might look awesome with just some paint on it! Itll look like bedliner. I ran a similar setup on the old UglyYota for a month or two and actually liked it quite a bit, but I ended up not doin a drop bed and it wasnt really needed so I went back to the stock setup. If I do a full interior on the new Bronco im workin on I might go back to it again

The dimpling is actually how the metal comes. If you ever looked at most walk in coolers, it's the skin that they use to cover the panels. I have a couple a sheets here at the shop left over from a repair job we did.

I'm going to use that set up on my "Texas 40" FJ40 build that I'm working on now, just so I can put a full interior in it too.

One of the next items on the list, is to build an interior, install a servo winch and build a very minimal front bumper. Looking to just plate the front of the chassis to use a fairlead and then just one single piece of tube right under the grill. I really like the approach angle and the looks of just the grill and head lights. Rear is going to get just a receiver hitch or something for just a single "D" ring.

Thanks!

Those are the Radio Shack lights, and as wiring them. The best way, and what I'm going to do, is to tie them all together, reds to red and black to black, so that you only have to run one pair of wires. The front light will be wire the same, so there will be only two pairs going to the battery.
I'll see if I have some time tonight to make them up.
