Still waiting on some suspension goodies and I can't really proceed 'til I get them so I've been concentrating on finishing the body. I think it's safe to say it's now done except for lights/LEDs/windows. Thoughts?

Sorry the pics didn't come out so great... I'm undecided if I want to put the hood decals on. I kind of like it without them, otherwise it might be too busy looking.

That was something else I was considering, but after the rear graphics went on, I kinda liked it.

Man I wish I had those painting skills. Nice rig!!! You should clear the whole thing now and in-case the decals in clear. If you did that the decals would look and feel like they were painted on and also offer some protection.

Thanks! The paint it just plain ol' rattle cans, but the pics don't really do it justice, IMO. I think it looks better in person, but I may be biased. The whole truck (besides decals) is cleared with several coats. I thought about clearing over the decals, but if/when they get scratched through the clearcoat, I figured it would look even worse. I can always replace the stickers if they get too banged up.

Wow, that colour is amazing. I can't wait to see the truck hit the rocks (figuratively and literally ).

Thanks! Me, too!

Made a bit of progress tonight. I got the front suspension in and nearly all tweaked. It's just a standard Hand Bros 3 link setup w/Vanquish high steer knuckles. The suspension can now fully cycle with no interference anywhere, incl. the steering. I've got a set of Zero Ackerman VP knuckles and since I have the room for them, I think I may slap them on to get a bit more steering out of it. The JR Z9100T servo is now in place, too.

Notice the "clearance" between the knuckles and the wheels! The wheel nuts are super snugged down and, believe it or not, they spin freely!

The track width is just barely too wide to be legal for a Class 1 rig. I figured this would be the case so I've got some RC4WD flares to slap on. Eventually, I see some cast Toyota axles under this rig and then the flares can come off. I could swap the wheels for some with more backspacing, but I think the wheels make the truck so I'm keeping them!

And a taste of what's to come. By the way, there are brake discs behind the wheels....they're just really hard to see because they're the same diameter as the inside of the wheel!

Thanks, Hugo! Yeah, I'd never put this much effort into a Class 2 or 3 body, but a Class 1 rig should never see such crazy terrain. That being said, I'm sure I'll still end up bashing the bajeezus out of it one day!

Thanks, Norm. Well, it is just another Hilux bodied SCX10 so how exciting could it be?? But yes, I want this to look like true street rig so it'll be a pretty mild build.
