I'm building a replica rig for a customer. He'd like a little version of his sweet 1:1 Here's the big one: It's got more mods than I have room to list. So first things first I needed a body. Thought about getting a proline cgr, but noticed it's totally different. Not even close to the same style. Knowing I'm not the greatest styrene master(actually I suck) I contracted Richard(pardonmynoob) from OffthegridRC to put one together for me. Sent him a shiny new clodbuster body to start with, and here is the progression to scouty goodness. |

More So the body is on it's way to me now. I'll be posting up as I go. If anyone has a set of RC4WD K44's they would like to part with, by all means let me know. |

Actually It will be running 1.5 Rock Crushers. The swampers were only on the 1:1 for a short while. He's been running BFG Krawlers for some time now. Well the Binder has landed! Fedex delivered it to my door this afternoon. I was amazed by the pics from Richard, but I'm even more amazed holding it in my hands. He did a truly awesome job! Here's just one of the boxes of parts I've already amassed for this project. I still have over a dozen things on the way. As soon as the chassis arrives mockup shall begin. |

They do come from Spain, which takes a little bit of time, but they are worth it. | ||

the 1:1 may have short links on the back so when the tire is stuffed in moves to the center of the wheel well but as it falls away it looks closer to the front of the wheel well which is what we are seeing...but i do agree it looks funny. I looked at the picture more and the front is on a radius arm like the old fords I bet it has bronco coils on it. The back is on shorter links but I can't tell if its a radius arm or 3 or 4 link. Oh I completely forgot about it. Actually been very busy dealing with some excitement i didn't want. My main welder died, and had to order a new one. Now learning the settings on this new one. Just finished a big order, started on another. My old bad knee has re-emerged, limiting my time to be standing per day blah blah etc etc... Plus I had been waiting for key parts to arrive. Almost all the key parts have finally showed, so I will have some pics very soon of mockup and get going on this thing. |

Looking great so far, Dave! Mr. n00b outdid himself yet again. Very glad y'all didn't follow the awkward rear fender lines of the 1:1. Looks like he used reversed front flares for the rear. Odd! Hope your knee gets better and the new welder works out......and I'm looking forward to some more updates! |

Thanks Tommy, so far the new welder is doing pretty good. it can do more than the old one, and it does it better. i just have to change settings a little more. The knee, well who knows. I'm not going to the doctor, just to have them tell me I need a new one at 36. So I'll just have to live with it. Funny you should say that about the rear fender lol. The owner wants it as close to the 1:1 as possible sooo... |
