Nice little Bronco... Love all the pics and mods you've done. By the way, when people say "GF's Rig", they really mean there other rig? Right? |
LOL usually yes, but this time around not really. I dont EVER run her rig unless its to test somethin out. I built it for her and loved the way it wheeled so instead of beatin hers up I built myself one lol Now Ide rather run mine than hers. Her Bronco is sittin on the work bench waitin for some paint thats been on backorder for months now, cant wait to get it back together and runnin with mine! Matt |
just wondering what you used to strip the paint off the body |
nice man it lookks good and i bet it goes really well |

She crawls better than she looks I think!!! I love the capability of this little rig. I thought I was gonna have to stick to smaller, easier trails and obstacles thanks to the shorter tires and the shorter wheelbase but thats not the case at all! Itll go almost everywhere the honcho guys with bigger tires will! Matt |

Thanks good to know I have a honcho body that someone else painted and it's a really bad job and i didn't want to buy a new one cause of the paint"thumbsup" I'll try it |
Put together some taller, skinnier foams for the TSLs last weekend, now the tires stand a little taller with the weight of the rig on them. I wanted to test them out last weekend but stripped another idler gear 5 minutes into the run. I swapped it out with a steel gear and hit up Badd's farm for a little GTG. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...int6/034-6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...int6/024-7.jpg You can see in the pic that the tires look a little better, to me at least, but at first they were just a little too stiff and didnt wanna grip. It was very dusty too but I knew they could do a little better. After about 15 minutes they seemed to break in a bit and started workin again! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...int6/043-5.jpg I got to crawl for a couple hours then she popped a front driveshaft. I thought I still had a chance to get out of the obstacle in RWD but right when it started to grip and pull out the rear shaft popped. The ears are twisted and one is cracked so now its time to hunt down some better shafts. I also smoked the wounded BRXL when I put it in the Courier to finish the day. It had a good run, drowned it twice and revived it both times but now it is more than likely dead. Just another part to pick up lol. She will be back soon! Matt |
This little bronco looks awesome! The reduced 1.5's are a great fit. "thumbsup" |
Thanks! I love this little rig more and more every time I take it out. She is still down at the moment but Ill gather some parts and get it ready at least by the big Food Drive GTG at Badd's farm. Matt |
That is a nice Bronco. My wife and I go camping at Montgomery Bell State Park. I run my truck along the hiking trails and have a lot of fun with it. |
Have you checked into scaletrailrunners.com? The creek was alot of fun out at Montgomery Bell, would like to go back sometime soon! At the moment the Bronco is still sittin with two busted driveshafts and no ESC. I am workin on puttin together the cash needed to resolve this issue as we speak so hopefully Ill have it back up and runnin shortly! Matt |

Most of us arent waterproofed either so we never crawl where you cant get around the water safely. Some of us have a tendency to end up in the water no matter how hard we try so we value our waterproofing skills :lmao: Matt |
looks like your having all your gf/wifes fun!! nice build!!"thumbsup" |

I appreciate it Griz! I love takin pics of this thing, every now and then one pops up that looks really real. Im itchin to get this thing back up an runnin again, I miss crawlin the little guy. Matt |
Got some drive shafts from Twisted and borrowed an ESC from Jbird just to get this thing back together in time for a GTG at Little Rock City in Alabama. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nt6/012-11.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nt6/006-13.jpg Bronco was actin like it did last time I had it out at the Farm and didnt wanna hook up to save its life. I was gettin a little frustrated and decided to try and figure out what I had changed that might be causin the issue. I added some taller foams to try and get a little more height outta the tires so I thought maybe I went TOO stiff but later figured out that they are juuuuuuust right! I took the little rear shocks loose and zip tied them out of the way and took a spacer out of the front 3 link which put the front end back where it was before. After makin those changes we hit up a course that Lappdogg put together for us. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nt6/007-18.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nt6/011-12.jpg She crawled so much better that I ended up forgettin about the Courier and ran nearly the entire day with the Bronco instead. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...int6/014-7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nt6/015-11.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...nt6/013-11.jpg Wasnt until the end of the day when I pulled a wire off the motor on accident that I finally put the Bronco away. Kinda bummed cause I had lights put together for the evening run but had to run the Courier instead. Maybe next time lol Matt |
Awesome thread and bronco!!, been following it for quite awhile and i love it!!, keep up the great work"thumbsup" |
Thanks! Im workin on some minor changes right now and would like to get started on some real simple sliders and a rear bumper. I might even add some to the front bumper, my body is gettin wore out lol Matt |
