Yeah well have to have a sweet, super scale, scale run this summer! Have you considered cast yota axles? Maybe modify them a tiny bit to look like Dana 30/35's? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |

Hey if i had a 1:1 jeep with d30/35 I'd gladly switch to yota axles. Haha. But all my jeeps have had d44/60 or ford 1 tons. But I've been tempted to pull out the dremel and shape my yotas more like 44s. I have a spare axle casing even to try it on one day. Cheap alternative to k44's haha. What you could do is mount a piece of flat steel stock to the underside of the chassis rails and then mount the bumper to the flat stock.

Also, when I had my Jeep TJ (1:1) I was going to put Toyota FZJ80 axles underneath it.. Jeep axles suck! ![]()

I finally spoiled thee ol girl. They aren't 100% installed, just as much as i could being at a friends house with only a few tools and no spare parts. Anyways a couple poser shots. The TLT links ser3100 had on ended up being pretty dang close to a direct swap to the 44's. It won't take much to get the wheel base where it needs to be. Also lost a headlight lens, i'll will have to figure something out for that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More to come, i've got a couple ideas on how i can shave some weight off up top as well. I'll most likely end up tearing the body and armor down completely for a repaint in the next couple of days, it's called for with the new axles under it. As you probably noticed i snagged a new windshield for it off ebay as well, the old one was cracked and driving me nuts. Thanks for looking- |

I kind of like it black with the black hood, but they are both going to get painted silver. I might try and chop the doors, or make them removable. Also I can't decide if i should hunt for some counter sunk tiny screws for the rock armor or leave these alone. We'll see, something to get it closer to this: ![]() It's not a permanent thing. I had them lying around and wanted to try them out. They don't look as scale but they work a lot better. Tons more dampening with these scx'ers. The coil overs do look better though. The axials have a large diameter spring it seems which makes them look a tad big in scale terms, maybe i can fit a slightly smaller spring over them to make them appear smaller, we'll see.

If your looking for screws try microfasteners.com or qtena.com. Some tiny screws in there. If you do end up removing the doors you dont have to cut through the armor as they sit under the doors.
