I got this body off of a member on the board here but before starting anything i had to do some extensive repair and then i started on building accessories today.

First up was the Canopy, after a few trys I came up with this it still needs the windows cut out for the front and rear.
I'm leaving the sides solid because i will be adding some sort of hooks or something to hold some DMG sand ladders.

Finished the body work and reinforcement on the cab gave everything a coat of primer, also finished the canopy made some handles for the back. just need to build the holders for the sand ladders thinking of building those from some aluminum.

Put in some work today managed a semi roller status. So far got the links/WB done managed to use a combination of the stock long/short losi MRC tierods for links basically the same links that come on the MRC pro kit.

Shocks on the front are not finished still messing with the setup but i think the narrow width is going to force me to make them inbound on the chassis. Obviously the wheels and tires are too big on there now for mockup. I will be probably cutting and gluing my own 1.5's out of what i dunno yet leaning towards some TSL's.

I need to find a 1.5 wheel that is alot less offset than the stock mrc rim in order to get the tires to tuck in the fenders on the front. I have some in mind but i have yet to acquire them, STANG KILLA want to put the popcorn down and cut me some rings?

Any suggestions and measurements for what you guys have would be appreciated.

I managed to use a stock MRC driveshaft on the rear but the front needed a little extension, I opted to use standard MRC drive shafts because these little rigs don't weigh very much and hold up fine in my experience, If your going to be building a bigger 10th scale truck with alot more weight you might consider using some heavier shafts.

More tonight or tomorrow, going to work on the frame standoffs and servo mount up front next, the rear shocks will go inbound and triangulated on a delrin standoff for the frame I've yet to make.

Tonight i went and picked up some blades for my new dremel scroll saw and it made cutting the front frame full size servo mount a breeze. The front shocks are still going to get inboard i believe, i was going to get some front mounts but i don't think i will have enough room on articulation with the more inset rims.

Got the rear end all buttoned up, made a frame standoff/inboard shock mount and moved the lower shock mounts outside of the current shock tabs.

Interesting little bit of trivia here... You know how they came up with the name Datsun? All the big wigs where sitting around one day and trying to to come up with a name for the company. Finally someone spoke up and said "We have to come up with a name in an hour or less!" The guy sitting across from him looked at him and said "DAT SOON?" Hense Datsun.:lmao:

So how/why did they change it to Nissan?

Looking good... curious to see if you get the bumpers to work out since they were originally for the K2 chassis.

Front 4link mount

So i had the stock mrc pro 4 link mount up front but it had to go the excess stuff above the axle had to get cut off to clear the drag link on compression/articulation.

Looked around and decided to copy Dinkys 4 link mount(sorry Matt couldn't wait:flipoff:), I just got this dremel scroll saw so away i went.

About 10 mins later i had this.

Here it is mounted you can see where i cut away the 2 front posts on the axle and the 4link is moved rearward more so the links wont interact with the drag link. I also inboard the shocks moved the bottoms back to the original tabs and moved the uppers inside with a couple spacers holding them more inside so the frame doesn't rub the springs on articulation.

Akguanja, why did you decide to move the front shocks inside the frame rails? Also, what length are your frame spacers? And did you make a custom skid plate for the tranny?

The front shocks had to be moved inside cause they rubbed the tires on articulation.

The skid im using is the stock MRC skid(not the pro one) it is 2" 5/16ths wide and so are all of the frame spacers and servo mount up front etc. You cant use the stock 3 links with this width obviously but this Datsun body is so narrow i had to keep the frame as narrow as possible to allow the tires to articulate and not rub the frame etc.

Thanks man, try seeing if dinky will have any of those 4 links like that anytime soon. Here's the thread http://69.167.160.222/forum/showthread.php?t=275252

Messing around tonight, cut one of these 1.9 claws i had down to a 1.5 overall new tire height is 3" im shooting for about 3.5 when i cut down the TSL's. Keep in mind no foams in the tire etc.

Another note looks like ill have to narrow these rims also there so inset that even with the MRC wide hex's the wheel is rubbing the knuckle barely.

Here is a pic with the rim/tire up front, The rims are kawada mini cooper rims.
