newb status: re-obtained
i dont know what to do....never built a leaf spring rig.

what do i do with the shackles? do you tighten them all the way down? they included the little shims for both sides.... do you leave it loose?
what about the difference in width between the leafs and chassis? ie the shackle needs to be wider for the leaf, and closer together to mount to the chassis

also do the leaf helpers (add-a-leaf) go on top of the main spring or the bottom?

You will have to make spacers or use washers to make up the differance between the frame width and the springs.Use lock nuts and tighten them until things can still move but are snug enough not to wiggle side to side too bad.The shorter springs go under the main leaves just like a 1:1 rig. This looks like it will be a fun little rig when you're done.

Yes, under the springs and on top of the axle on a spring over setup.

on the back im running all three leafs. in the front just two. the main leaf and the smallest helper.

that's a clean looking setup, are those rails steel ?
if so that leaves tons of cool options open for brazing on sliders and bumpers later.
plans for a tranny or T-case ?

don't worry about the flex, my chevy don't get a whole bunch, but as the springs break in you will gain a bit more.

thanks!
naa aluminum. to keep it light up top, and for the stock look i didnt want any tube bumpers or sliders. more of a how it left the dealershop but with MTs swaped on.

ill go with a simple center axial tranny. i plan to use the proline interior so i dont need to keep the floor low etc. the high PL interior will hide the tranny and even spur. and be super light up top too. really just going for a simple fun rig.

well right now im getting zero the 1/2" of flex im getting is just the shackles swiveling. im not wanting or asking for a lot of flex. but id like at least 1.5" to 2"
