Maybe if the truck was lowered 1/4" everything would gel together better and you wouldn't need the bigger tires like you were talking about. Have any softer springs Clay?

Well I finally installed my LEDs from Nick at Chaotic Crawlers. I love them! The warm whites look so much better than the typical blue-white "HID" LEDs.

Crappy cell phone pics, but more will come soon!

Very good light output! Don't let the warm whites fool you, they're not dim at all.

I have two extra white LEDs flopping around the cab, which are waiting for their special fixtures.

Thanks! I'm not letting this one go anytime soon though haha

Since winter is practically here I think it's time for some winterization on my D90. Can anyone guess what the chain's for?

No way I am selling this anytime soon. I love this rig! But I really do need to drive it more...

I decided I'd give the chains a shot tonight, but I only made one. I kind of wish the links were a little smaller to help with the scale appearance.

Somehow I was lucky and they worked out on my first try. Not sure if I should add some more cross chains though.

The inside of the front tire is a problem right now. The chains will either bind up on the steering parts or rip right through them. I might try expanding the inside chain circle, kind of like how a short course truck wheel is 3" on the inside to help with steering clearance, and the outside has the 2.2" size.

Haha It does remind me of him!

This morning I tried to make a new chain for the front tires. I enlarged the inside circle only by 2 links so it wouldn't roll over the tread, but it still doesn't clear the steering parts. Maybe if I added some more cross links like 10 instead of 5, it would stretch the circle big enough to clear.

I definitely like the look! Maybe a smaller chain would be better though.

Definetly needs 10 crosses instead of only 5

You might try Hobby Lobby for some more realistic looking chain. I found some in the jewelery supply area that would work really well.

I agree, but with the chain being so big it might look crowded.

That's a great store! Too bad I don't have one close to me. I ended up buying from McMaster Carr. The chain should arrive in a week.
Final details are being added. Very close to finished! Then it's time to finally drive this thing!

McMaster Carr always amazes me with their fast shipping. I got my chain today! And it looks a million times better than what I got from Lowe's. Can't wait to make some new tire chains

A few updates to share. I can't wait to take this outside soon!

I lost the original license light fixture so I made a better one to fit an LED. Also got a shim to dress up the rerouted exhaust.

Made a bracket for a utility light in the back. Not sure if I'll wire it up to the main running lights or save it for the future light bar setup.

And of course I made a new tire chain haha. Three more to go! Finally got the side mirrors, front license plate, and a black diff cover on now too.

Thanks! I love the Tango Down beadlocks. And the best part is they only have 5 screws to worry about.

Looking good. Why did you take the ARB differential covers off?
