| need some advice
Hi ALL! so I have been wanting to do a real real scale build for a while now. I LOVE my scx10 and damn does it preform awesome but not all that scale. for this next build I want this thing to be SPOT on. I would like to use a Hilux body. I just dont know what all I need to order to make the body complete. I have been searching on rc4wd and have just been getting confused. I get I need the cab, box, windshield. but are there any other pieces I will require to finish the body? I would like to do an interior but cant seem to find one... o and this would be getting thrown on top of a Trail Stomper, or is there a better platform. thanks in advance, baconC. |

For the body you will need the lenses tree, windshield tree, grill tree, bumper tree, and then stickers but I don't know where to get them, and I don't know anything about the trail stomper, sorry

thanks. I am honestly up in the air right now about the hilux. I was thinking of using the bed from it and using the front half of the Comanche.

cool Ill check out DinkyRC, I just bought a trasmitten but didnt really see the scale stuff. O and I have no budget. I have just received a raise at work and things are going nice. I was thinking about basing this project off of a RC4WD scaler. just not sure which one. I like the trail finder. it will be a 1.5 with a hard body. I like the hilux just not sure if it is the right one for me. | |

Ok how about a range for your budget? Like 500$ or less or more or what?

I would say more than 500$CND. I have been looking around on rc4wd and it seems like the trail finder seems to be the route I want to go.

thanks for the required parts list pardonmyn00b. I think I will get the trail finder. just not sure what all needs to be upgraded on the trail finder. seems kind of sketchy with delrin leaf springs. |

Hey Bacon, talk to Ted about leaf springs. He tried everything and eventually gave up. From what I heard, steel springs are strong enough but have to be broken in to get the right flex. Delrin springs flex nicely but a good tumble down a hill with twist them beyond repair. Regardless, if you do run a leaf sprung rig, you won't be able to beat on it like your SCX.

The RC4WD rigs aren't impressive at all compared to a SCX. If you SCX isn't scale make it so. Since you have it already I'm betting you'd be disappointed with the performance of the Trail Finder. I've seen leaf sprung rigs work extremely well. The leafed Yota I built worked great, didn't flex much but still went everywhere. Search Chino63 leaf mods and it'll help your leaf sprung scaler flex a lot better. He's a scale genius, seriously. Not to mention he makes his own steel leaf packs that work well.
