| 1:10 Stupid Scale Bronco Build
Dont expect to see a 2 week build in this thread. Also dont expect regular updates. Will be using K-44 axles, GCM t-case, Disruptor tranny, fxr spd control, DX7 spektrum radio, rc4wd Rangie steelies. Most everything will be 1 offs with a few scale parts along the way. first step is to model a real 1:1 frame~ (in 1:10 size!) First few cuts..... Lining things up a few more cuts final: cut it a bit short on the rear end- I believe I will be cutting another frame, this was just a test run. Will be getting with my friend for welding it all up, I am going to pick up some 20 guage sheet steel (or something close) and work on folding/ bending up the coil buckets, body mounts, and fabbing some spring hangers. If any one has some good ideas on how to do this stuff post up. I am all ears. L.R. Last edited by LoneRanger; 09-06-2012 at 07:19 AM. Reason: updated title |

Awesome job! I will be watching this for sure. Definitely what i wanted to do for my scale build going on now in 1.9. I really like the technical side of this build. |

I'll pick up some 30 gauge(10mil) steel tomorrow the 26 stuff I have now is a bit too stiff to try and bend the 90* angles into. Not complicated bends just tough to do on such a small scale. The best thing I have seen online is the galvanized round pipe for ac ducts and things. I will have to pop it apart then I can cut out what I need. Will also pick up some cutting disks tomorrow too! I'll be curious to see how this goes. I've got a '71 Bronco and have been been seriously contemplating making a scale replica. I had been planning to bend the frame rails, hadn't thought of cutting and welding them.

Got some small stuf dome today- worked with some tin, and made a body mount shock looks great, and started on a scale shock mount for the front. Will try and get some pics up tomorrow. L.R. |

A few updates for you~ body mount bracket, coil bucket, and shock mount. this is what you start with to make the "scale parts" just the shock tower- this will be made a bit taller than scale I think(and no one will notice) the paper cut out version The real tab next to the paper part- thepaper part is a bit larger(on purpose) the metal is true to scale as it matches myy schematic perfectly! last one Will tinker some more today- L.R. |

Newer parts, ready to out out of steel. 2 coil buckets, 2 shock mounts and 2 body mounts. all the parts cut out and magnet-ed on frame. front drivers side body mount is different so I have to make a new form for it. L.R. |

It's the PITA parts of the build that make it different. Your frame idea is cool and interesting, will be following this build. Wishing you a lot of inspiration and very little perspiration. |

its been slow going as I have been mostly tinkering with radius arm stuff. the K44 "looks" cook untill you start working with it- then it becomes a pita. not very well machined imo- It'll be ok, but it could be LOTs better. need to get a body and some rims and go from there~ like I said it isnt gonna be an overnight build. Hey excellent work have you got there, I like it!!! Just curious…where did you get those chassis drawings??? Are they from a 1:1 Bronco and then you made it 1:10 to beginning your copy chassis??? I’d need chassis drawings for a F100 67-72’ model. I want to make my 1:10 scale of my 67’ F100 and I only found a good site FORDification.com where there are lots of drawings but not as you have…they are really what I’m looking for Any help welcome…and keep your hands making those nice 1:10 parts!!! Really nice!!! El Vasco!!!! |
