| Die-laughing's FJ40 TF2!
Ok.. I recently acquired an Aoshima FJ40 Hardbody from BiG_DaWgZ. I did a partial trade for it involving my Brown Bomber Toyota Mojave body. This FJ40 body will now rest on my TF2 chassis. I'm working on getting it mounted and it's going pretty smoothly so far and I took some pictures! I'm excited about this build! Here's a couple with my C2 Maniac F-350 in there for comparison. The FJ is a big heavy beast. Thick plastic all around on this thing. I plan on using the 1.55 steelies but, I think I want to paint them silver. I have 1.55 Rock Stompers to go on this as well. Should fill in the wheel wells a little better. I moved the rear axle in a little bit. The wheel base is now 10.75". Stay tuned for more! |

Yeah, It's a big body rig.. It's actually an 1/8 scale body I believe. But, it fits nicely on the TF2 chassis. The tires that are on it in the above pictures are much too small. I'll get some bigger tires mounted up soon. It should make the truck more proportionate.

Threw some worn 1.9 Iroks on there for fun.. it fits a bigger tire pretty nicely. its going to like the 1.55 Rock stompers when I get them mounted.. Just waiting for weights for the wheels to help this pig not be upside down all the time. got the chino military wraps on it and chino'd them.. these are for a different project ... I also stuffed some 2.2's under the front for fun.. the back wasnt havin it. This body is big but, its so damn awesome! I'm glad I have it. I'm curious to see how it fits in with the toyota pickup's in my club. |

Ok.. here's some pictures of how I mounted the body and general mounting of stuff & things. here you can see the mount for the body using an existing mount that was already on the body and i had to drill a hole in the frame rail and tap it. This kept me from having to modify/hack the body and I can just sneak past the tire with my allen wrench, loosen the bolt until the body comes off and the bolt will stay in the servo mount part so I dont loose it. same thing in the rear, servo mount, existing body mount, etc.. you can also see my gas tank relocation, my leaf spring relocation, my new shock mount setup... I did have to make room in the tunnel for the big transmission.. very minimal and its right on the floor board.. i'll have to box it in when I get to the interior. couple shots from the bottom.. my wp brxl is stuffed in there nicely.. my shift servo relocation and fuel cell. plus room for a decent size battery. I just have to make sure i figure out a way to plug & unplug it without taking the body off.. I love this truck! |

Ok.. got my new tires installed..mcmaster hooked me up with some stainless hardware for them. I flipped the steel wheels for a deep dish look. worked out pretty well. I also ground the webbing on the insides of the front tires to soften them up a bit... and I have a whopping 8.5oz of weight in all 4 wheels! holy hell! it should keep this top heavy pig planted though. I'm going to make some knuckle weights as well. |

That chassis looks great under there. I might just have to do a clone of your build I have that same body sitting in a box somewhere, was just about ready to sell it but might just have to keep it afterall

Well, I kicked it's ass pretty good today. I told myself "It's going to hurt when this thing gets a scratch" but, when I'm actually driving it.. it's just a truck.. It's gonna get bashed up a little. busted door handle (easy fix) cracked fender (ouch, I was I could go back in time and make that not happen) It looks pretty bad but, It's still stuck on there pretty good. This is some thick plastic. Super fun though! Awesome time today. I got a couple of videos too! (see below) |
