very cool build. I have recently become the owner of a 47 chevy 1 1/2 ton flat bed (1:1). I have been scouring the internet for flat bed pictures. Your build is looking real good. The truck I got actually had the fenders sticking above the bed like you are doing. Unfortunately the truck was in an accident and the bed is toast.

I found them on ebay, it looks like they are out of the dually. TRACTOR TRUCK, YOYO items in GTDCNC store on eBay! I think Topcad or Integy had some too. actually, these look like the same company: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Billet-Machi...item2572bd2aa2 Last edited by johnnyh66; 03-19-2013 at 10:34 PM. |

Are you going to have kind of a rat rod or aged look for the body, or will it be shiney like it was restored? My vote would be aged.

I like the idea of a rust bucket with the flatbed but on the other hand... these trucks are usually restored if you see them on the road. Maybe I'll do both! I have an extra body. | |

I got my truck back today, it looks bad ass and the body fits really good. I'm thinking of dropping the dually untill I can make a shorter axle. I think this is going to be one tough C1 rig. Right now I have the front axle moved forward on the springs but I think it'll look better back in stock location. My bed, which I made w/o the truck in hand, seems about a .25" short. I gotta lay out a bumper and spare tire before I decide if I'll make a new one. |

I agree on the bed Looks a little short and possibly a little narrow also if you are going with the flatbed. It could be just the angles too though. I really like it. Very similar to what mine was going to be until I changed it to class 3. Nice job!

I am in love! I just took the 34 out to one of our comp spots... I was blown away by it's performance! It ran the C2 obstacles without a hitch. Last edited by johnnyh66; 03-26-2013 at 12:25 PM. |

Looks real good. What if you run two exhaust stacks up between the cab and the bed. Then you could move the bed back a little.
